This reminds me of my childhood and watching with my mum. I'm not even sure why we watched it - we didn't have any money at the time, so homemade mince meat and mail order chocolate wasn't even on our radar, but we liked it anyway!

My mom had this series on VHS and would always play them in prep for christmas. I remember the mincemeat and pudding being prepare months earlier to mature in some mixing bowls in the store cupboard.

shame the dubbing is out of sync, do you have the other progs from this series?
@deliasmithfan3 жыл бұрын
Yes sorry about the syncing. Something seems to have gone awry when uploading as the original is fine. I’ll try and upload again. I have the rest of the series but it keeps getting blocked by YT.

From the US: I have followed mincemeat recipes, but do not have access to store-bought "shredded suet." Instead, I have purchased frozen, unprocessed beef suet which I then shred in a food processor. It comes out thin and flaky. Then, I measure it by weight to match the recipe. The trouble is, my mincemeat always seems to come out very oily and loose. It never really turns into a jam-like consistency. Is this wrong? Any suggestions?

I found Atora shredded suet on Amazon. However I make this recipe and I always use vegetable shortening. I grate it into the mix. Still taste really good and still better than the jars they sell in the supermarket.

If suet is not available, what is the alternative

Check with the butcher section of your grocery market. They may have suet in another form.
