What a beautiful place. I get the impression Argentina is a handful of different European ethnic communities each headquartered its own region of the countryside. Then you have BA, the place where these groups come together for fun and commerce.

Interesting. I'm very much looking forward to the rest of the series. I've been paying attention to prices as you guys go along and it seems even though the currency has pretty much collapsed since I was last there it really has not translated into any great deals for tourists. I mean, it's inexpensive relative to Canada, but no more so than I recall. Which is actually encouraging because I wouldn't want to see their misfortune being taken advantage of. Argentinians have had a rough time of it for many years and my heart goes out to them.

Peron loved fascism, uniforms and Mussolini. Prior to WWII and after the war, Germans and Swiss could hide out in a little Tyrolean outpost that reminded them of Bavaria and the Alps. People spoke German and ate warm comforting German and Swiss victuals. Córdoba and Bariloche

It might be good, but not really a traditional Swiss Raclette, pineapple, oregano, parmesan?
@samuelandaudrey5 жыл бұрын
Thanks Derek! What would a traditional one look like?
@DK-vn7lr5 жыл бұрын
@@samuelandaudrey Well it would be with Raclette cheese, no Mozzarella. No herbs sprinkled on top. The pickles and sausage or ok, but the pineapple has got to go. Real traditional Raclette used the whole wheel of cheese that's placed under a broiler and melted. They really melt it, it gets brown a bubbly. Then they scrap it on to boiled potatoes, and put the wheel back under the heat to melt again for the next plate of potatoes. What you had just had some non traditional additions.

Too bad you had to travel all the way to Argentina 🤪🥴🙄 to eat raclette. In Delisle Court (Toronto) just up from Yonge/St. Clair there used to be a fabulous restaurant called (tadaa) Raclette. Guess what they served??? Go on, guess!🤪 Perhaps you guys should do a series called “Discovering Toronto! “ You can eat better here in what the UN refers to as the most cosmopolitan city in the World. Just saying! Your restaurant is far from traditional. A cheese called raclette should be used! Small boiled potatoes plus real cornichons (not just “pickles”). No need for oiling the cheese pan and certainly no need to “herb” your cheese. You were scammed being given tourist food. Shame on the Argentinians!
