Wow the Dominican Republic have it own unique vibe. I have never been to Santo Domingo. I flew into the airport one night going to a different destination , so I never had a good look at the city. I plan on going there this year though. Nice video guys👌👌

Next time in santo domingo take the metro and the cable cars!!! Show the perspective of public transportation and its growing and geeting better. They are working on a train line from the airport to the center city in the capital!

I figured you would be living in Cabarete again. I thought about going back soon for a few weeks. Decided on Puerto Viejo again, easier to work in an earlier time zone. Quitting work after sunset in the Caribbean isn't fun :(

I haven't been back since April. A woman I met a few visits ago when back in October. It's more expensive with the US dollar going up. The old harbor grocery in town has been jacking up rates while over in Cocles the prices have not. I'm not sure if it ha anything to do with people staying away due to nightmare traffic with bridge replacement. The new 2 way bridge just opened up between playa negra and town. She went up to Arsenal and paid $40 USD just for a hamburger. I'll stay away from the main tourist towns. I haven't had a chance to check them out just back and forth between PV and the US.

Happy birthday Anna! I've also had some great experiences in Santo Domingo and have stayed in Naco a couple of times. There a great bakery/restaurant in that area called Cappuccino that you would enjoy and you HAVE to grab a cab and head to El Mesón de la Cava (yes, it's actually in a cave!) for a high end dining experience. I believe up top there is a dance club. Best if the season & maybe we'll see you in Cabarete.

Traffic in Santo Domingo is typically bad. It does get exponentially worse about Christmas. In a lot of places in Latin America, DR included. You'll find the "Aguinaldo" which is a salary 13th all employees get. It's a cultural gift if you will, for you to have a merry Christmas. So people goes wild with the shopping. In between black Friday and Xmas. So if you can avoid driving, highly recommended.
