It’s actually so accurate for the nursery to have the smallest / fewest windows. All nurseries I’ve ever been in always have blackout curtains plastered to the windows 24/7 because babies and toddlers nap so often!

In the US, you technically need a “closet” in a room for it to be considered a bedroom! I know many people probably live in rooms without, but legally to be called a bedroom they need a window & closet!

I know we have a square foot limit where I live in the US, and probably windows. I found out that there was a square foot limit when my landlord was selling the house we were renting an apartment in. The entire 3rd floor had been divided up into 4 bedrooms at one point, but were too small because of the slanted ceilings. They wouldn't count any square footage with ceilings below I think 6 or 7 feet (this was 2 years ago, so don't remember exactly) so none of the rooms qualified as bedrooms anymore. We had to move our bed to the 2nd floor where we had a spare room, and then the fire marshal wouldn't let us even keep the bed frame in any of the 3rd floor rooms, so we were forced to move it down to the 2nd floor. We were in the process of buying a house so we could move out of the apartment, and had zero interest in putting the frame back together when we were intending to move out in 1-2 months. He wouldn't even let us keep the old twin bed frames my sister left behind on the 3rd floor. There were no twin mattresses in the entire house, no kids, and no other kid furniture/toys/evidence of kids living there. We only had the twin frames because we intended to take them apart and reuse the wood for other things. AND my desk had to be taken apart and moved too, because apparently we weren't even allowed to use any of the rooms as an office space. Fire marshal then forced my landlord to move the door of our apartment so that the 3rd floor was no longer behind a locked door, only the 2nd floor was. Which frustrated the heck out of me, because we essentially lost half our apartment as useable space, anything stored up there was accessible to anyone who decided to come into the unlocked stairwell, and he did not lower our rent or compensate us for the hassle at all

in the Uk the 'legal' requirement is that any room for a single person above the age of ten needs to have a floor space of 70 square feet 6.5 metres, and that's it. other than that it's just any room that isn't a bathroom or living space can be considered a bedroom. An example ive had in my own life is that where i live the houses all have the same layout in terms of floor plan and downstair there is a room across from the hallway which is normally the living room, then next to it you have the main room of the house which is the kitchen and then a small thin hallway kind of room (imagine a 2 by 6 or something in the sims) as like a laundry and storage space, but in my friend's house (next door) her bedroom was the living room of my house, then their living room was the kitchen of my house and their kitchen and laundry was the small corridor kind of room at the end and it absolutely counted as a bedroom in her house.

I have an interior designer tip for anyone with too few or too small windows; Place your curtains next to your windows instead of on top of them. This will give the illusion that your windows extend behind the curtain and are way wider. You can also attach the curtain rod way above your windows, creating the illusion that they are taller. Happy decorating!

In Germany especially the older apartment-houses have glass at the doors but the glass ist milky so you can‘t see right through it. But some people prefer hanging some kind of curtain on it anyway and I can totally relate :D

I love this! I can totally imagine this couple moved in here after they got married with big dreams of a grand renovation which got put on the back burner once they started having kids and focusing on being super parents, then when they fell pregnant with their third decided it was finally time as they probably need another bedroom and bathroom too. And this is exactly how they'd fit these in. It feels like such a true reno and refresh where you can see they've cut cost on some IKEA kitchen cabnits and wardrobe to invest more in the new spaces for the kids. And the furnishings is perfect chaos for a young family. Back with a bang Deli!

27:10 I feel the exact same way about House Flipper 2! There are a couple sinks that are meant specifically for bathrooms and those look good, but if you want to create a custom counter with sinks then there are no realistic looking options :(

The build looks amazing I love it. Teething puppies are the worst, I thought it was a "great idea" to do puppy stage of a land shark (German Shepard) and a chewer (staffie X border collie) together safe to say it wasnt a good idea. To be honest, apartment buildings in America typically do not have front doors that you can see through like that 930 Medina Studios apartment. That's usually reserved for single family dwellings.

All of the tile in my home is natural cut shale and it’s really uneven and rough similar to the brick flooring you talked about. It’s SO ANNOYING. Yes, it looks nice, but it’s impossible to clean and destroys any sort of mop pad after a few uses. It’s even used in the bath surround and on the floor and walls of our walk-in shower. For anyone who is considering a similar tile- don’t do it unless you love difficult cleaning jobs and doing constant maintenance for the rest of your life 🥲
