@@TheWorldClass9 dude come on I know how the internet works I’ve been using it 30+ years. The fact the trucks lasted 50+ years means it was clearly made capable of doing so. So why change it making it everything it isn’t. Also the value it could of had restored was way more and it was good candidate for it. New vehicles are not really made to last and don’t really. If you look around you see vehicles lasting shorter amount of time then ever. Everyone likes to act like they’re more reliable but they’re not cause so much electrical junk and expensive repair and the lack of parts or ability for owners to repair besides the few of us who are not the norm. I can rebuild a sbc in a day easily alone and a rebuild kits a couple hundred bucks or so. On a new engine a set of coils alone cost that much and just to pull an engine could take large part of the day.

So I know we live fairly close to each other. Draper DMV if you walk in when they first open you will be in and out in less than 15 minutes each time you go. First time to get temp permit (if you even do this step) and then to show the inspection has been done and receive actual plates. But seriously it's so quick if you just walk in right at open.

You could hang it horizontally on your wall and fill in the spaces btw the rails with old photos of you and your family with the truck throughout the years. Maybe stagger the photos chronologically from left to right too. I know you had been thinking of car part wall art and I think something like that would look awesome. Just a thought!

Hi perhaps you won’t see the comment,My Dad passed away in 2001 ,he had a bakkie (South Africa),seeing what you did to find your Dads truck inspired me to do the same ,got it ,shipped it home ,I had to restore it myself to the best of my abilities,the shops is just to expensive,did the best I could with a small budget ,got it going and it was an emotional journey everyday ,now enjoying it as a weekender ,thank you for doing that as the thought to do this never crossed my mind until you did it,thank you so much 🙏🏻

In the future if the vehicle is in another state and you need to register it the DMV has a VIN Verification form that you can have a police officer or sheriffs deputy from that state fill out and submit to Utah to complete registration
