aperturegrille.com/reviews/Del... You've probably seen plenty of these before! Wonder how it measures?

really digging your monitor reviews, even if your reviewing an ancient really bad LCD. Great content.

Haha! Thanks! I didn't think anyone was watching this Dell review. I've got another bad monitor that I'm working on right now.

Just bought one off ebay for about 30 bucks, good monitor for people not wanting to spend a whole lot.

Does it need a tower to work or does it work without one?

Nice review, I'm trying to find a really good 4:3 aspect ratio LCD monitor for gaming. actually, this is easier said than done because it seems that response time is a common issue. Could you make any recommendation of a good LCD screen in 4:3 resolution?
@Knix65933 жыл бұрын
Not exactly good at 8ms, but i personally use an HP LP2065, a pretty big 4:3 at 20in (and 1600*1200) and the colors are great for a 14 year old IPS monitor (yes, it is IPS, provided you win the lottery)

If you want a 4:3 monitor get a CRT. All the early LCDs were trash, and those are the only 4:3 LCDs you’ll find.

Can this monitor use a Vesa ,mount?

hehe i'm still using the 1908 model, major point is the build quality. Otherwise it's a panel from another age. My only complaint is viewing angles, atrocious verticaly.

have about 5 of these laying around, fine as a second monitor imo

I still use two of those as my main monitors. And I just recently played GTA5 on one od them using all the high settings. I had no issues whatsoever. I actually love the old backlight technology of these screens. The reason is I don't get any back light bleeding as with many edge lit LCD screens.

can you vesa mount this monitor btw?

I used to have a Dell Ultrasharp 1908FP monitor. Like this monitor, same resolution but 19 inches instead of 17. Loved it but then the power button broke. :(

What mod for Quake II are you using?

Sorry I saw this late. Not RTX, but I'm using a port called q2pro. skuller.net/q2pro/ It's a very bare-bones source port... lots of technical fixes but no drastic art changes. I really like it.

@@ApertureGrille I was curious if you know any square monitors with high refresh rates?
@ApertureGrille3 жыл бұрын
@@Johnny-lo7xo Oooh, not sure about that. Most "office" type monitors that were 4:3 could probably do 75 Hz, but your best bet would be to use a modern display and just make a custom 4:3 or square resolution and set the graphics card to no scaling.

Yes but you won't get good viewing angles because it's a boxed design instead of rectangle
