Hey, it has been so long, but could you please comment on the hinges? Are those mounted on plastic or the magnesium chassis? Most of the laptops use brass inserts in the plastic body, is this same too? I am concerned about the hinge mount only.

First of all, You should backup all of necessary informations or programs etc. I usually prefer get a system image. You can use acronis true image software. In this way, you can import your informations, user settings, software etc. to new ssd. softeare

If you want to replace ssd,hdd,ram etc. You should remove battery. it is the most important step.

You can visit dell and search this model. There is product support page. You can find part and accessories belong to this model. And you can search compatible parts. I prefer kingston,toshiba,sandisk
