In short, my take away is that XPS 13 2-in-1 seems better right now. It has a better battery life with FHD display and Iris Pro graphics. 4K on 13-inch may make sense to content creators. But for a business user, I am happy with the 13-inch FHD display.
@cresperion5 жыл бұрын
Battery life of the 7390 2-in-1 with FHD is about the same as the standard 7390 with 4K. However, the standard 7390 with FHD gives you another 5 hours of battery life, making it last much longer than the 7390 2-in-1 (see notebookcheck).
@AaronSkone5 жыл бұрын
I really wanna know where everyone on the internet keeps hearing that the 6-core is only available with the 4k display because you can absolutely customize your laptop on dell’s website to have the FHD display with the 6-core. Better batter life and a lot cheaper, I promise you don’t need the 4k unless you’re a 4k video editor.

it's a very specialized computer. For people that do a lot of bursty tasks and require maximum speed, this is a great choice. But under sustained loads, it has to throttle back substantially. Because it's still using UHD graphics though, it's a very unbalanced CPU compared to the current wave of Ice Lake and Ryzen CPUs which have competent integrated graphics.

@bluebull3994 жыл бұрын
I went for 16GB with 4 cores, whilst it would be nice to have 6 cores 8GB isn't enough, even tabbed browsing can eat up all that. I still think 32GB should have been an option. I guess the XPS 15 is still a better option for a laptop with more power? Do you know if there will be any XPS 15 update any soon? I was thinking about buying the XPS 15 with the 4k oled screen, the i7 and 16gb of ram one, maybe I'll get it for the Black Friday if there are any special offer, but I'd wait if there was a new better improved model around the corner. Or maybe there is any other better +15' screen options from other laptop brands for the same, similar or better price? Having a fast CPU really helps makes office tasks more enjoyable. There's nothing worse than having a slow desktop. Most office workers are switching between apps, have multiple browsers open. Modern integrated graphics are fast enough for rendering 2D desktop apps and watching 4K video. Unless you are gaming, video rendering or working with 3D then integrated GPU's are fine.

I still can't reliably transfer files to and from my external HDD's, speed goes very often to 0 B/s for 10s and then resumes for 2s and so on. It's very loud laptop. It wakes up and heats up really hard on closed lid, no update fixed it yet. Most of the problems are maybe because of Windows and I can't switch to linux, because it is not supported... I can't reach any English support from Japan, ffs!!! I just switched to MacBook Pro which is amazing, it just works great and I spent a day to learn it! Now I need to get rid of this crap!

@yancgc50985 жыл бұрын
Shaazami It’s fine that this Dell laptop has a different goal from mine, but the specs inside of it are nowhere near worth the $1,700 price that it’s being sold for. Having no discrete GPU means it should have a way lower price. Just because it has a 4K screen, doesn’t mean it should cost $800 more than my laptop, that’s absurd.
