Great review, Andrew. I bought this XPS 8960 about a month ago with i7-13700K, AMD RX 6700 XT, 8GB RAM, 500GB NVme, 1,000W PSU, all for $1,050. I’ve since upgraded it myself to 32GB RAM and 2TB NVme, which were both super easy and saved a bunch of money! Pretty happy so far with no issues. FYI the internal DVD drive is NOT an option. You can opt to plug in an external DVD though.

The Dell XPS 8960 looks like a great desktop for those people who prefer them over laptops and Dell does not disappoint, especially with this one. A great desktop or laptop from Dell is usually expensive but you get a Premium product that will usually deliver for a while. Keep in mind though that Dell puts their products on sale from time to time. Great video Andrew!! 👍😁

My 3rd Dell XPS finally gave up the ghost today ... I think the power supply failed. After 12 years of use on this Desktop, I have no complaints. My 2nd XPS is still alive and running on Linux. Based on my experiences with Dell over the years, I am inclined to buy another. I do not get involved with gaming, but I do stream vids, do digital audio recording, and with with graphics a lot. It seems like the perfect choice, but some people have had some problems with this model. I think that the bottom line is: if the computer gets to you working and has been thoroughly checked out, you will enjoy the purchase. But, if it has problems and you need to call Dell Tech Support .... well, you are in trouble. I hate to base major purchases on "luck".

Well, dell is way overcharging you for what this would cost to build yourself. And the 4080 is a huge chunk of the price
@akin242002 Жыл бұрын
Nice review. I like the specs, but it has a lot of competition with the "Build it yourself" customized PC crowd. They can build a powerful customized PC for less than $1,500. However, if something breaks there is no warranty or compartmental warranty. I can see this Desktop for a mid-size or large businesses with lots of workers in office. Architects, mechanical engineers, hedge fund traders, or a company that hates Apple for video production (Walmart).

Look at the space between gfx card and psu... The 2 fans on bottom of card have no room to breath. The water cooler is tiny...and i hear that the pump is noisy. Edit: my friend's old XPS is going 13 years with just a Radeon and SSD upgrade. My dad's lasted 12 years with ssd upgrade. But, thermals are challenging this time around. Hello from Japan. I would like to buy this because of its cool design, unquestionable performance, and reliable dell product, but I have one concern. I know that dell's own water cooler is available as an option, but I think that even the 13th generation i7 is just barely enough, and the cpu temperature will definitely be too high for the i9. The XPS would be so good, but the pricing is so wack. To get to 16GB and 1TB of SSD storage, including a dedicated GPU, which is STANDARD, you have to shell out way more than if you were to build a PC yourself. However, I'm guessing that's just the cost of the incredible build quality. The built-in cooler isn't that good though so I would go with the Dell WaterCooler option

It's a piece of junk. I bought one in February 21,2024 and it's now May 21st. it shuts external hard drives on and off. Hard drives disappear then come back on, on their own with plenty of annoying beeping noises. I don't know if every unit has this trouble, but this unit is a major dissappointment.$3,280.23 is going to meet my hammer. Ports at the rear are few, too many audio ports that you won't use and only 2 USB A 3.0 ports. The HP Z6 G4 as 6 USB 3.0 ports. I had this customized with liquid cooling and a 1000 watt power supply. I was expecting better performance than this. The PC has crashed at least twice in 4 Months. Look elsewhere, service is bad as you don't talk to the same person twice and some are in Costa Rica or Pakistan or India.
