I've never really talked about Undertale before, even though I've played it multiple times on streams and with friends. It never really seemed appropriate, UNTIL NOW! With the release of Deltarune i'm diving back into the games universe again and talk about my thoughts and opinions on this new game, or at least Chapter 1 of the new game.

My theory: The story is that in the Deltarune universe, Kris was their own person until the player took control. Then, a soul was forced into them, forcing Kris to watch events unfold, trapped in his body. Proof: In the beginning, Kris has his own save, until the player overwrites it. Furthermore, the secret boss, Jevil, is known to have began to believe the world the monsters and humans lived in was just a game, which would mean someone would have to be the player, which would of course be you, the player. And, at the end when Kris rips out their soul, the reason they were so deformed was because they were ripping the control away from the player, and the soul they trapped in the cage was not their’s, but in fact the player’s. (Which is shown by you being able to move the soul around inside the cage.) Oh, also, just remembered this. Some of the characters make remarks about how Kris is acting stranger than usual, which is because Kris isn’t, well, Kris.

Devon Noble The knife is not a sign of Chara, simply a popular weapon for Toby Fox. Red eye? I think that was likely just for dramatic affect, or to show how much pain Kris had gone through.

Lancer, a darkener, specifically refers to putting people's blood in a bucket, implying that, unlike monsters, darkeners bleed. I'm sure many Undertale fans can think of one monster that bleeds.

You are wrong about the Sans being able to bleed since as already said, it was ketchup, the only reason that was told long before, in case you did genocide to make you think that, and yeah you may be right as Darkners didn't ever turn into dust, even when Susie attacked them when running off being joining the party let alone in the midst of battle, they were seen hurt laying down. But, has it got to do with being a lightner or darkner, or monster and human? Susie and Kris are both lightners, yet only one would bleed, and assuming Lancer recognised Kris as a human as Ralsei did, as he knew the legend too (if you skip the legend in the beginning, he will mention that he is aware that he is in it as the tear shaped guy), then he would know Kris can bleed. Whether darkners can bleed we don't know as none actually died, they aren't humans obviously but I feel like the darkners we have seen are monsters and aren't an entity of their own, like Ralsei is a parallel to Asriel, a dark version, but a goat creature obviously of the same nature and race as Asriel, making him a monster. So instead of seeing it as humans, monsters and darkners being different from each other, I at least see them as humans and monsters only, some of which are of light and some of dark. Another theory is that the world of dark is just the imagination of Kris who used to play cards, board games etc with Asriel, hence having inanimate objects come to life, even the dust left when being untouched (the enemies you blow on), and that Ralsei only exists as it is the essence of Asriel, hence the darkness giving Ralsei form, that darkness being imagination or something, meaning that darkners can't bleed as they aren't real physical beings

My favorite little detail was when you interact with the house that looks like Napstablook’s house from the first game, you get some dialogue using terms like “beautiful” and “prance.” Then the person says they’re a bit of a nobody. This makes me think that inside the house is Mettaton in ghost form, and that he never became a robot in Deltarune like he did in Undertale.

Speaking of Rouxls Kaard... His name is pronounced "Rules Card", meaning he's meant to be the rules for the playing card deck; in other words, the one in charge of the tutorials. The king appointed him Duke of Puzzles, and the puzzle piece guys running a Patreon-esque tutorial setup were forced to do tutorials after they were fired from puzzle duty. That's why RK sucks at puzzles and the tutorial guys miss a lot of things; their roles were once reversed!

Here's an interesting easter egg you didn't mention: The other gravestones are references to the amalgamates (But like if they didn't get fused with the other monsters that "fell down"). Crystal is Snowdrake's mother, Muttler is endogeny, and Shyra is lemonbread.

Another nice video Jeff. By the way, If you want it, here's a little fairly easy to miss efficiency tip for speeding up battles. When you have Kris Act to set up a monster for a spare, you can have your other party member use spare on that monster on the same turn instead of defending.

On top of the graveyard you see there, the other gravestones belong to 'Crystal', a dog (forgot the exact name), and 'Shyra' - these reflect the amalgamates you meet in Undertale, of family members that had 'fallen down'. We didn't know their original names in the previous game, but its safe to say Crystal is Snow Drake's mother, and Shyra is Shyren's sister. The Dog would be a relative to the greater Dog and rest of the royal guard dogs from Undertale.

Gaster is literally everywhere in DeltaRune, it’s fucking weird. Even the game itself, SURVEY_PROGRAM.exe, is written in Gaster’s all-caps, and the file version is 0.6.6.6. At this rate Gaster is being portrayed as even more sinister than Chara, and with far more power than the player. It’s kinda terrifying lol.

I think the shelter at the end is where you'll have to go in the 2nd chapter. It just feels like that one door in every RPG where you can't access till you progress further into the story or find the item needed to unlock it later in the game.

I forgot how to full screen the game, and boy am I glad I didn’t, because I noticed that the name of the window will change during parts of the game, for example at the end of the game while Kris is in bed (before they get thrown off of it by some unnatural force) the window is called “The return”

Aight. Noticed one thing while I was playing that's super noticable. The character can make dialogue choices near the end of the game, that only a player of Untertale would have known, such as telling Sans you know him already, and asking Undyne about Alphys. Just something that might or might not play into some theory.

the cellphone creepy sound is the same sound or close to the matrix mirror going down neos throat but slowed down, the creepy noises seem to all be a slowed down and pitch changed sound effect from computer based things, like fax machines and modems

I think you as the player have infected the world of DeltaRune, let me explain. At the end of a genocide run in UNDERTALE you sell *YOUR* soul to Chara, not Frisk's soul, your soul. Now you have infected Kris with Chara's soul by playing the game, as indicated by Kris save file being overwritten by yours. Later when Kris soul gets thrown in the cage it's to resemble how Chara has taken over this vessel and infected the world of DeltaRune.

I think when you're being bullied by Susie in the beginning and smash the button to make dialogue go along, you can actually choose to agree to her terms if you hit the button fast enough but I'm not entirely sure, I didn't record it and only tried to remake it once but messed it up. XD
