Looked this video up today as it’s the 25th anniversary. Where HAS the time gone?? I was also on it (I’m the one with the blue baseball cap hanging out of the window as 22 leaves KX and also as it flies through Retford). It was a really surreal day. We took an early morning train into KX from Potters Bar. Almost everyone else onboard it was dressed in black as they headed into London for the funeral. I remember as we passed through Newcastle, the station and streets were virtually deserted of people and/or cars, bar some station staff & enthusiasts. The journey back behind 87101 was in full rain, a complete contrast to the sunshine in London at the funeral.

Nice film of the day, firstly I was there, secondly I like the two minutes silence, remembering our Diana and also because I had driven my parents mad trying to raise money to buy D9012 Crepello, if only! Money was harder to find then. Dad said "and just where will you keep her?" plan was to lay some track in our Hertfordshire garden and protect 12 until we could mainline her ;-) That's pipedreams I guess, now we would have had many friends with the money to of seen it through! Bless DPS!

@deltic17 The reason it was Crepello was my uncle- a horse racing pundit who lived at New Barnet and he would take me to a bridge at Oakleigh park stn, nearly every evening 12 would appear either heading north or towards KX. He alway's told a story about each name, what races they won,Meld,Nimbus,Tulyar.Pinza-to an 8yr old I was fascinated! A visit to 34G, then a cabride to New Barnet in 12 was a special memory at 11yrs old! We got dropped off at the signal box few times there,no HSE then!

Nice video. Like the commemoration of our sadly lost Deltics at the border stop. Wish No.12 had been saved. She was the best of the best!!

I remember the day well: I took a ten-mile bus ride to a cancelled kung fu class. I was that dedicated a martial arts student, I can recall the one Friday night in about four years circa this time that I eschewed circuit training and a swim in favour of a night on the town. Went to see Brighton band 'David Devant & His Spirit Wife' in Exeter. An enjoyable night. I'd rather have spent time in the company of Deltic Farewellers than attending a cancelled kung fu class, that's for sure.

Punt a search on Los Angeles porn star couturiers; they'll probably have mail order options.

Brilliant soundtrack. It sure was chucking out some stuff at times. Brought back 1960's and 70s childhood memories of my home north of Newcastle at George Stephenson's Killingworth.
