@@kellymerrill5294 Far from it, in the realm of technical and creative endeavors Cuckoo sure is superior by a large margin and a great inspiration to me. When it comes to beauty, Cuckoo's music just resonates with some groovy, tender and emotional part in me. Hence my comment, the piece made me feel something (a lot) which, in the end, is what music is for. Saying one artist's outcome of creative/technical endeavors is more or less beautiful then the others is subjective and in my opinion false. How do you measure beauty? It all boils down to personal opinion, there is no objective standard for that. This and other songs from maestro Cuckoo simply resonate with me. He is not more or less wonderful then any other artist can be to anyone else but his music is very special and meaningful to me personally. So to me, yes, his work is absolutely wonderful and extra-ordinary. Isn't it great that we can just let him know by leaving a comment?

Fantastic. I got to meet a member of the Synthstrom team while in NZ. Helped me out with more advanced features and using more automation. This looping feature means I can sell my ehx 95000. Well done!
@red13emerald5 жыл бұрын
I tried to figure out how to do exactly this yesterday on the current firmware. A drum kit works well, one monitoring track and one sample track for each loop. It’s a little cumbersome but works. But what’s even cooler is using infinite delay. You set up every track as a sample track (but don’t load a sample), set the delay amount to exactly half and put in a drone note. Now to record you set one track as “in”, play your thing and then set it back to “Sample”. Setting the delay sync to 8th or 16th notes is really nice for drums, you just clap once and the bar fills automatically. And, using the delay amount, you can make loops swell and fade out over time.

Hey cuckoo i have a question! I am thinking to buy the deluge or the octatrack, but the two seems to be really cool for live performance and sampling, maybe you have one or two advice ? Which one are you preferring ? thanks in advance :)
@truecuckoo5 жыл бұрын
They’re so vastly different. The no-limit approach of the Deluge can solve a lot of things, but the seriously tight scene and fx control of the Octatrack is somehow unsurpassed, it feels. I think it’s about the workflow. The Deluge has a more chill workflow, and more open, architecture. Unlimited tracks. Easy to map MIDI. Much easier to load samples to create one shots, HUGE sample kits, big sampled keyboard instruments, and a synth engine that covers basic synth needs. It even has CV ports. The Octatrack has a more fixed layout, which in my opinion makes for an overall much “faster” performance machine, once you’ve come that far. Quirkier sequencer, which is both good and bad. Good because it’s super tight, bad because it can be tricky at first. I enjoy the Octatrack as a performance machine. I feel like it’s super tight, and I like the Elektron sequencer. But I have a feeling the Deluge is more chill to use, especially when starting out and creating sample based music. But enough depth for seasoned users too.

So, are you hearing a click track in your headphones so that you can time the loop?
@truecuckoo5 жыл бұрын
No click track. I’m free styling on the piano without any reference, and the deluge probably assumes that I’m playing 4/4 and divides the FIRST recording into bars and is calculating a tempo based on assumptions. I could’ve set up a click track though, and sent out a CV click (I guess), to keep the click outside of the audio outputs.

@Bourgouche3 жыл бұрын
Hi everyone, I'm considering buying one of these but still have a couple questions about it. Any help would be massively appreciated! 1 - Has anybody tried to connect a midi mixer to it (I'm thinking Novation Launch Control XL or equivalent)? Having to mix / EQ / apply FX to every single element one by one seems like a bit of a pain, so wondering if there is a smart shortcut here? 2 - Is there anyway to export separate stems into a DAW / record them separately? I'm thinking of using this as my main unit so if I draft songs on it I'd need to relatively easily export them to, say, Ableton to finish the arrangement and then move to mixing and mastering. If I have to record every single track one by one with the other ones muted that's going to take ages, and knowing me I'll just end up starting a new project every time lol... Thanks in advance, take care
