Don’t I know I was a heroin addict for 7yrs I’ve been 7yrs clean. The hardest thing I’ve ever done. I lost my brother to an overdose on Christmas Eve 3yrs ago and it’s still so fresh. And I think it will always be ppl don’t know unless you have lived it.
@nicolenelson13612 жыл бұрын
We addicts will always be labeled addicts even if we're sober. And alot of us do t get clean because having to go through withdrawal is painful and scary and the hardest part is the mental aspect you might be fine in a couple weeks to a month physically but mentally that can last a couple years, and that's why alot of us relapse. And if any of those people that judge is on the daily did any ounce of research they would know that MOST addicts had some sort of trauma in their life and when we do the drugs we don't get to feel those feelings it's like an escape away from reality. And Demi is right we are gambling with our soul! I've been sober a few years now and I thank God everyday but for the ones that feel like they can't get out and it gets to the point of an overdose....I just wish I could cure everyone.
@bonkey122 жыл бұрын
@@nicolenelson1361 Once you get sober, if people call you an ex addict then its time to throw them out your life. You wont be labeled as an addict always because some people like me have enough understanding to know how hard it is going through it and even after it. i work with it everyday, never an addict myself just thought i should mention that because i dont know first hand what its like but i work with clients everyday who have been through it. Be strong and keep pushing. i cant say this in the office but i can say it on the internet. fuck what every one else thinks, if you are proud of yourself then fuck what other people think.

Your sister sounds lovely. When my mom died (four years ago today), I stopped taking my epilepsy meds and drank myself into a coma and very nearly died. A few months ago, my sister was telling me how she was afraid she'd have to make funeral arrangements for me shortly after mom's, and that broke me. I've never been so horrified and sorry, and this song nails those feelings. Sister was so angry and hurt, I can't imagine the pain my family must've gone through at that time, because of me. I have never dealt with anyone I know or love die from overdose or even overdosing in general, but as soon as you started to crying my eyes just started bawling out tears. It never really affected me whenever I thought about it or talked to a close friend about it, until I saw this video. I was crying and crying and I still don’t know if I’ll ever be ready to come out about it, but this video has really comforted me. Part of me still feels like it was my fault, but I was only a little child who didn’t deserve it. I know you probably won’t see this, but you’ve replied to some of my comments before 😊. Hi Hannah if your seeing this, don’t apologize for feeling this way. We all go through painful experiences and times...I’m so sorry for your sister. I loss my grandma this year due to COVID...and I was also getting emotional reacting to this video. But all I just want to say is that if anyone see’s this comment, just remember to be with your loved ones and to remember that it is okay to feel this way if your going through a rough time.

This is probably my favorite music video of all time, the way Demi can sing their story in such a raw way while still sounding incredible, they are such an inspiration and I am in aw at your courage to react to this video and this song and to keep pushing through it, thank you.

Don't ever apologize for being a loving caring human. As a home visiting nurse, I worked with addicts for a long time. So many lost but so many saved.

That was a powerful reaction video. Thank you for opening up, you might not realise it but it means so much to many of us. This song hit hard for me, too, but ICU was a lot harder to listen to. That song is just too much at times. Don't ever apologise for feeling and showing your feelings, that's an incredible strength that unfortunately few people have. Lots of love and I'm sorry for your loss.💞💕

Hey Hannah, since you so bravely shared with us about your sister, i would also like to speak and share about my mother a bit as well as myself so a bit of a trigger warning for self harm, sexual assault, drug use, abuse, and under aged drinking. She is still alive but i haven't seen her since i was 5 because she abandoned me for the fast drug life, im 15 now. When i was younger, veeery very little, my mom had a big problem with drugs, she even used while she was pregnant with me, its how she met my dad because of them at a coke party. And when i was younger she would be very violent with my dad over it, a 5 foot 5 little woman hitting a 6 foot 1 buff man because of a little baggie. One day while i was 2 she took me from my dad, while he was at work in the middle of the day, and for three years while she was with me, we lived in Washington state, house to house until she found a boyfriend. She would do drugs with him, in front of me, she would have her friends over to do them while I had to sit in a corner of the room and be quiet while the adults had their fun. She became violent towards me, so did her boyfriend, his friend were "awful" to me, to put it lightly. And one day, after 3 years of house to house, on and off with her boyfriend, shelter after shelter, school after school, everything, she dumped me at my aunts place before i even got to turn 6. All for the fast lane life of drug, parties, sex, and alcohol. My dad finally found me three days after my 7 birthday. Even then when he got divorced to his new wife (because the school found out she was hitting me and told her, she flipped on my dad and then broke it off)he became an alcoholic and abusive. He died of a stroke when i was 13. And after years of cycles of abuse, sexual assault, growing up around drugs, suffering through a year of under aged drinking myself to blackouts, and self harm im only just now getting the help i need and trying to teach myself that everything that happened to me isn't my fault. I am sure Hannah, so sure, that your sister was absolutely amazing, talented, beautiful, smart, and that she would be so so so very proud of you and who you are right now in this moment. When you lose someone, its hard, but its ok to feel and its ok to share what you are dealing with, because thats human and thats healthy. You will grow and heal and your sister will be watching you, and she will be so very proud of you for who you are and who you will become in the future. If you ever need a break, we will understand because we are here for you, we will listen if you need to talk. We are your family too, and we all love you like family. You are very brave for sharing, you are very brave for making this video, and you are so so so incredibly brave for posting it. We hear you, we love you, we are proud of you, and i hope your sister is as well, im sure she is. Loooooots of love my dear, my comment is always here for you and anyone else if they need to share their stories or just talk things out. -Mori Darling🖤✨

Demi is amazing. It shows that just because it looks like someone has everything, doesn't mean they actually do. Everyone is human no matter what and everyone has struggles and its ok. This is powerful and means a lot to so many. Thank you Hannah and so sorry about your sister. I know she's with God looking down proud of you and everyone she loves. Much love and God bless everyone. 🙏💛

I'm 3 years clean in May and this video and song and her whole experience hits my right where it hurts. I feel your pain of losing your sister to addiction. I lost my aunt who was more like my mom back in 2009 from the same thing. If you watch Demis KZbin series about this time period of her life, there are a bunch of details in the music video that she talked about. Which to me makes it that much more powerful. I'm sorry about your sister. May she be resting in peace 🙏

Hannah, never apologize for how you feel. Always remember we are all here for you. The fact that you still posted this video, even after all the trauma you have felt with, just proves once again that you are a queen 👑

Stories like Demis and your sisters matter so much and i’m very glad you posted this. Addiction is something that a lot of people and families silently deal with because of the way society shames addicts and I think it is so important to talk about so that the stigma around addiction can hopefully go away and people can heal and get help. This video has a lot of meaning to me so thank you Hannah.

I have fallen down the KZbin rabbit hole and watched at least a dozen of your reaction videos this morning - This one has by far been my favorite but it's because you show just how much music can impact us and let us see the raw emotions that the song/video evoked for you. Never, ever apologize for your feelings or emotions - especially when they're feelings surrounding something so personal for you. Thank you for sharing a piece of Amelia's story and her beautiful song, and thank you for trusting your fan base enough to post this. Sending you so much love.

Damn. This is what I call being brave. If i ever loose my sister, I won't be able to survive, not without her. You were able to survive, to go forward, and on top of that to make a video about a song talking of an overdose, to keep composed and to post it even though you were incredibly vulnerable. You have my upmost respect.

So sorry for your loss of your sister, you did a beautiful authentic reaction, so it's all good. Love the bluesy style of this song, builds the story, her vocals are insane of course and good on Demi for being so raw about her struggles.

Oof, this video hit me hard. My sister also dealt with self harm and an eating disorder like demi and luckily she got through it and she’s still out there fighting but this video just made me realize once again that it could have ended so very differently. I’m so sorry to hear about the loss of your sister. You are so incredibly strong. You could’ve chosen not to react to this video at all or not to post the video but because you know how important it was for the message of video to reach as many people as possible you persevered and i think that’s so incredibly powerful of you.
