The very fact that Trump is trying to block this movie shows he is both not really a free speech advocate and ashamed of his past
@SADRailsimАй бұрын
He has the right for trying to block a movie, it is about him. He has no right to use the judge system for it, like democrats use to silent dissidents. Free speech is not about trying to shut up somebody , it is about abusing or change the law for it. And in the end, it is wrong, of course, but it is quite hypocritcal after covid, 6th jan, 2020 elections etc…to make a big deal of it after all the power did.

You can make a fortune selling literal bulls**t in the US as long it comes in a shiny box and has an expensive marketing campaign promoting it. Trump is a pure product of that culture. The movie is excellent! The Apprentice movie takes us through the early years of Donald Trump’s real estate career in 1970s and '80s New York, with a compelling narrative that keeps you engaged from start to finish. The performances by the cast are nothing short of spectacular. Sebastian Stan delivers a powerful portrayal of Donald Trump, capturing the complexities of his character with finesse. Jeremy Strong as Roy Cohn brings a gripping intensity to the screen, while Maria Bakalova shines as Ivana Trump, adding depth and nuance to her role. The supporting cast contributes significantly to the film’s success. The movie’s flow is seamless, thanks to Abbasi’s direction. Overall, “The Apprentice” is a well-crafted film that excels in storytelling, performance, and direction. Kudos to Ali Abbasi and the entire cast and crew for delivering such an engaging and memorable cinematic experience of such a destructive, negative and selfish person.

Too Late! I saw The Apprentice at a movie theater yesterday afternoon. Although not what I expected because I thought it was going to be a behind the scenes movie about Donald Trump and the development and production of the NBC reality TV show The Apprentice, it does a pretty good job of showing the relationship between Donald Trump and New York City attorney Roy Cohn, who makes Saul Goodman look like an ethical and honest attorney in comparison. Instead, Donald Trump was Roy Cohn’s apprentice in the 1970s and 1980s, and just like anyone else, Trump threw Cohn under the bus when he learned everything he needed to learn from him and Cohn became an embarrassment to Trump because he was a gay man dying from AIDS.

I enjoyed this interview, and look forward to seeing the film. That said, from a clinical perspective and with all due respect, what the film-maker was describing as 'real human emotions', in reference to Trump, should more aptly be described as 'personality disorders' that have been in evidence since he was a young child. (It was precisely because of his severe personality disorders that Trump was attracted to, even mesmerized by, such an effectively malevolent and unapologetic person, who could both provide him with the tools necessary to get whatever he wanted, and to get away with whatever he wanted). Malignant Narcissists and those with Anti-Social Personality Disorder or Psychopaths, do not, in fact, experience emotions the way others do (although Narcissists, especially covert Narcissists, and Psychopaths can learn to mimic a range of emotions in order to manipulate and exploit others; however, the genuine 'reactions' they are most apt to experience are rage, frustration, disinhibition, paranoia and boredom). Brain scans have shown that the sections of their brains which govern impulse control, empathy, remorse, guilt and such are severely impaired / inactive, which explains why they are essentially shamelessly and cruelly transactional with essentially everyone. Of course, once Roy Cohen was no longer useful to Trump, or his 'image', he was discarded, as all sources of narcissistic supply eventually will be.
