DEMON 170 PRICES CRASHING WORSE THAN I EXPECTED, DON'T BUY!

I wanted a 170 so bad that I could taste it. I had justified paying 25k over for one and was just waiting for the call and when the call finally came from my salesman, I was told (oh the owner now says there will be a 50k markup. I just couldn’t make myself into it. Months later he called and said, I have your 170 at 25k over and I declined it, now I just got the call asking if I wanted one for msrp. I wouldn’t take one for under msrp now. The whole experience is just ugly now.

Don't do it. Get another variant that is more reliable as your going to get into a parts issue very quickly. Tell the saleman to pound sand.

I own a dealership and I have a Dodge dealership 1/4 mile down the street from me that I have a good relationship with. I sold my cousin a 392 and with 12,000 miles on it the engine blew and dodge tried everything they could to not cover the claim. Even with me knowing the service writer and her doing everything she could dodge asked for pictures for a couple months, then a tear down, then more photos and finally after almost 6 months they gave up and covered the engine. But you are 100% right they are doing whatever they can to not cover claims

Disagree on all accounts, except for maybe the valet key, which I don't really care about anyways. The 2023 Demon170 is a much better and faster car all the way around and a totally different car than the 2018. Talk to those who own both of them, like the Herman aka demonology, Ron Silva, and many others....who say the 2023 Demon170 is the real Demon car that the 2018 should have been to begin with, but fell way short. As far as prices are concerned The Demon170 is Still selling for 20k-40k (depending on options) over msrp sticker on auction sites. It's the 2018 Demon that is crashing in prices ever since the 170 came out. All True collectors know this & true drag racers know this is a much better & faster factory built drag car. The 2018 has a lot of weak points on driveline as well. Depends on how you care for them and drive them. If you do stupid things you're gonna get burnt by any vehicle's engines or components, all racers know this, it's a standard rule of racing for everyone. Hype is cheap Belittling things they have no clue about. Sound like a bunch of crying old, belly aching city women 😂 Or jealous people who couldn't afford.

The 2018 Dodge Demon did 5000 test passes without failure before they released it to the public. They did not do that with the 170. Also when you look into the head light intake on the 2018 there is a Devils head where the 170 there isn't. Top speed on the 2018 is 211mph with the crate option. The 170 is limited to 149.

So many people are shouting "but they have a warranty". Great, that's a piece of paper. That is NOT a physical motor sitting somewhere in a warehouse. Also keep in mind this was a limited production vehicle. There aren't many physical motors. Oh and don't forget that Stellantis has no love for dodge and just keeps the brand on life support to soak it for every penny it can. Stellantis will never make sure to keep enough parts to keep customers happy. Like Brad said, they will start fighting tooth and nail to find excuses to turn down warranties even though that will further destroy the brand.

Sorry for the loss of your dad. We went through the same thing with my dad. He went from forgetting things to having hallucinations to in and out of care facilities to he was gone in less than 2 years. I miss him everyday. The pain does begin to ease in a few months but it still hurts after 3 years now.

I like the shaker on your swinger. I like red or orange for colors. Not a fan of the green or purple. The 170's are lemons. Butters video this morning stated many will probably have big engine problems. If I owned one, I would have someone like Jeg's Race Car Division, Rahall Racing or Roush Racing pull the engine and check it out, top to bottom before driving it. You are already in big bucks, might as well make positive it will not blow up. Documents from a recognised experts should help sell it later.

Why would you wish thart on scatpack owners? We purposely bought a triple black 2021 6.4 T/A instead of a hellcat in late 2021. Was a return customer. STARTED @ MSRP, price negotiated down then an excellent trade in. Topper, 0% interest. We bought it as a reminder of 60s-70s muscle cars. 485 hp muscle car. Just to hear it fire up is still awesome. We're retired and waited a few years for this deal. Call it luck, perfect timing, patience or karma. Live in midwest. Car babied, no snow or rain and garaged 5 to 6 months. Why? Because we can and love going by other car lovers waving and talking with some of them. It sounds great, clean and mainly fun. Don't regret not buying a hellcat. Only interest was supercharged whining up. I believe a 6.4 hemi will last longer. With my latest health issues I won't be able to drive until next spring hopefully. Doesn't matter wife drives just fine. Only regret, it's an auto with mds crap. We put it in custom setting to eliminate the "green" reminder light at start. We bought a hemi not an economy car. Can't convince me 4 cylinder mode is good. Should've have got manual. But resolved that with custom settings. Bottom line we bought it to enjoy even if prices drop! Car will be in family. I feel bad for 170 owners feel worse for what stellantis has done to Dodge, Jeep, Ram Chrysler it's workers, the union and ready to ship out the country and destroy. May taveres rot in he-ll and be homeless. REALLY glad we got our T/A when we did. Just hope MOPAR parts stay available and worthy of being Mopar parts.
