Demon's Souls' main character isn't even a chosen one or anything special, which I like. He's just one of many warriors who attempted to solve the crisis and died in the process. The only difference being he's granted life after leaving the Nexus, and he's better at not getting killed than all those who came before him.

Every time I watch playthroughs of the new one, I agree with Chris more and more about the music. Even the colors of the original were more unique. The overall atmosphere is different and it does sadden me. Granted, this game was carefully recreated and a lot about it is great mechanically. And holy crap the character creation is SO much better here.

Adding onto that its a side scroller which is generally an easier first for a lot of developers. I can't say the artistic style is something I like about chris's game. I get the feeling he's trying to make fun designs but Chris's style as of late is mainly goofy and sometimes a bit gross but it kind of lacks anything truly "fun" in terms of visual design. That said psychonauts is kinda ugly and people love that game.
