Nice mace stuff. Try outside rotational clean with mace cocked so your arm is fully extended and then side you hand to the bottom and do a 360 shield cast.

I love doing carries all summer. Suitcase carry, rack carry and overhead carry. To bad my place here at school isn't bigger so I could walk around!

Joe's interviews with Steve Maxwell and Keith Weber may be good to review. Both talk about exercise.

I just got motivated to walk up and the down stairs with a kettlebell (in a goblet grip) then walk for a couple of laps with a kettlebell in different forms of carry (suitcase carry, rack carry and overhead carry)

The amount of knowledge ou condense in 15min is terrific. Also your literacy on the subject is visibl expanding and I like how you try to deliver all this by tellling a bit more sciency stuff! keep it up!

After my 100 swings and 10 TGUs I added in farmer's walks some months ago. I do 'em with my 16 and 24, so it's got some of the balance while still being uneven, and keeps the total weight significantly higher than just the 24 alone. Now I'm pretty used to it and wanted to add another movement, so from your recent video I added in doing snatches into overhead squats. 5 on each side at the end of the workout was a killer. Thanks for everything you do for KBs.

Could you do a video demonstrating a simple warm up sometime?

We already have. Search our channel with "warm up". - Gregory

Pat Mac was a Delta SGM many years ago. I have been to a few of his shooting courses. He incorporates a lot of fitness into his shooting courses and turns that into stress shooting.

warming up before training is very important, but many make a big mistake by doing stretching instead of warming up. That is, they do not increase body temperature, but stretch the muscles, thereby reducing the results.

You can work the biceps without curling but curls are functional: holding groceries and babies, choking someone, and check swings.

Do I nedd to switch hands while doing swings, or can I just do reps with one, than the other?
@bannini75 Жыл бұрын
In my limited experience, it can be good to switch to give your hand and forearm a brief rest so you can do a 2 minute stint. I know there is a fear element of dropping the KB, but I haven't done it yet in 3 years (hopefully not tempting fate).

What I'm interested in is a very short routine that a person can do to maintain a basic level of fitness. Like, you hear about people who do 50 pushups every day and they don't really do anything else. What would that look like for the kettlebell? Something for a busy person who wants to maintain a level of fitness. But who isn't looking to push themselves particularly. Lately for me that has become burpees.

I had the same needs and got into the Simple & Sinister workout. You can find everything online, or buy the book, but it's a warmup of halos, goblet squats, shoulder bridges (x3) then 100 swings in 10 sets, then 10 Turkish Get Ups. The goal is to perform the entire workout in 25 mins. Once you accomplish that you can raise the intensity by doing 1-handed swings.

Those Olympic lifts do not look like they provide many benefits that you can't get from a swing, goblet squat, and press. I envy Olympic lifters I see at the gym and wish I had been taught them instead of the basic power lifts in high school, so I am nowhere near a hater of the Olympic lifts. Just hoping I can get the same bennies in my middle age from the more standard KB moves.
