Thank you for bringing this great place to light. Donkeys are under appreciated by most and are an important part of the history of early American life. Great video y'all. It sucks that happened to the windmill but it brought awareness to the cause.🙏😎🙏

You’re welcome!!!!! They are amazing little creatures for sure! The windmill will be repaired and moved, all in due time! Thank you again!

Good video - one of your best! Lori's camera work and comments are great (as usual) - and the ongoing conversation with the owner really added a lot of interest. Your mic picked him up really well (although having cc turned on helps a LOT too). Your shout out to PFS was nice and it provides an opportunity to add my FREE tip of the day: you should watch how Jacob's nonstop chatter helps keep the viewer involved. When you're working without explaining what's going on, we are merely observing, not learning. Pretend like WE are standing there with you - trying to learn more about the job! Thanks for taking us along; we know that recording slows down your work and editing takes a lot of time, and we appreciate it!!
@OkieWindmiller3 ай бұрын
Thank you sir! I will try to do better with the chatter, but we are us. I don’t necessarily want to be like anybody else, and believe it or not, people also say they like us being quiet and just working. Shoot, who knows. Thank you for the free advice. 😀

Fabulous video... I was raised on a Michigan 1400 acre farm in the 1950s and 1960s near Lennon, Michigan. There were a few windmills around. My mother's father bought a farm not far from our farm in the mid 50s. There was a windmill still on the place. I'll never forget it. It still worked. He sold the farm and the windmill had disappeared by the mid 60s. Our next door farm neighbor kid, Alex Zsigo was killed in the Republic of South Vietnam the month I got drafted. I ended up in Vietnam as a OH 6A crew chief in 1968. I lost a few buddies. Look the kid up.

I will for sure! Those were the fools ole days, growing up as a farm kid with a windmill. I will look up Alex for sure. Thank you for your time and what you did. That helicopter is an amazing creature for sure!!!!

I do so enjoy watching you two team up on jobs. This video is what makes great video content. Recovery of broken windmills is just as much fun to watch as new installations. I built gas stations for a couple decades and did lots of repairs after big storms blew through. Some weeks that was full time work. Nice to see video content showing the realities of the job.

I just found your channel yesterday and I have a wind related question, I’m purchasing an old AerMotor windmill about a 20-25’er 8’ wheel. How much wind can it withstand? I had no idea windmills were still being made and installed for use.
@OkieWindmiller3 ай бұрын
Oh yeah they are! Depends on its shape as with anything. They were designed to withstand 70 mph winds, but that’s new. Yours could be very old, since we don’t know the model. They are strong as long as you turn it off when you think weather is coming or you will be away. You’re gonna love that Aermotor!!!!!

I was thinking about how often windmills get destroyed from tornadoes in Oklahoma. Is it a common occurrence?
@OkieWindmiller3 ай бұрын
It is…..sadly. But, some withstand it and we can just bend things back into place. As long as they’re turned off also helps. This one, they were gone when the storm came, and the windmill was on, so it couldn’t protect itself.
