I preferred last years winter village over this one. Yes it's pretty but just doesnt have the full Christmas spirit anymore, like Santa is gone (hopefully we get a quest like "save Santa"). I miss the sleigh race in Jarl where we got to drop presents into the chimmies. 🥺 what they could do is work on Dino Valley and turn it into the North Pole somehow since Dino needs a update and we dont have much to do there anymore.

can’t believe they’re really gonna release winter village content in chunks. if it were new content, fine, but i bet they’re gonna release the races in like two weeks like they’re brand new. the fact that we were promised the character update and an updated racing system this year, yet they don’t even have enough content to fill up december without splitting the winter village content into tiny updates is just... so upsetting.

At least with the winter race, I kind of understand why they would want to release that later. Since the map of the winter village got updated, maybe they want us to get re-oriented into the new area before having us do the race, since the race will probably be altered, just like how Steve's race had to change to fit the new map. That's possible. However, I understand the frustration of releasing the village and events in batches. I felt like that worked for the birthday update...somewhat. (I felt that the last two updates of the birthday update were not as exciting as the first.) For the winter festival, I am seriously hoping for some really engaging content with every week of the update.

If you compare SSO to other MMO's that do Christmas themed updates, they'd have plenty of time to add actually fun things.

im just pissed that out of the two new tack sets the blue one which I wanted doesnt have stats and that the christmas tree isn't the center of the village anymore, everything feels kinda unattached right now. and the fact that the quests/races probably wont be added til next week means we're missing out on so many warm wishes which also really annoys me cause that means itll be a lot harder to get the free outfit and tack set (even though i dont really like it from what i've seen tbh). I really like the new winter pets but they're super expensive as always and I hope they're going to come out with a new sc deal where you can get the unicorn bridles or the new pets with a sc deal or smth.

I was kinda disappointed that there weren't any races at all or that the Christmas horses didn't come out during this update. I was expecting them to come out with this update but they didn't which is kind of sad. I personally like the new village in terms of detail and the animations, but the old had more character, warmth, and personality to it. This village feels colder and less cozy, unlike the old winter village.😢 Assuming the Winter village won't change, I hope they will have some more things to do in the Winter Village in the next update which is when the new horses come out, but who knows with Star Stable. 🤷‍♀️

The advent calendar was not only my favorite, but also my mom's. We really enjoyed looking at the pretty drawings, and clicking on the numbers in order. I liked having to figure out where the numbers were, lol. It gave me a slight challenge. X3

The races weren't instantly there last year either if I remember correctly and they might not have completely remade them yet so I'm guessing that we'll get them on the update after the next update (since they didn't say anything about races in the next week's update thing). I love how the new graphics look, it's really smooth and nice but yeah, it definetly doesn't have the same Christmas-y feel as the old version. It's not the biggest thing but I miss the igloo and the star that hung between two ice spikes or something (where you could go up the ice and look over the village), those were really cool Also the area with that said star was my favourite one, now it looks kinda generic and not special at all _good that I still have photos from the last two years lol_

Bro does anyone know the point of James and the snow in the fence? Like I paid 1000 JS for what he claimed was the best snow field and go inside and literally all there is to do is STAND THERE. Winter update is my favorite time of year as well and to say I'm disappointed in it would be putting it lightly, I am assuming they will be doing the updates how they did with Halloween and slowly add in activities instead of all at once like normal. Either way it's a very boring update and highly disappointing presents under the tree this year 😒 like should have just not done them if they can't even give us good stats on the gear 😕 I too do not using anything that isn't max stats so it'll just sit around forever until I need to make room for new stuff.... they had done so good with the Halloween updates this is the biggest let down of the entire year.

I’m disappointed too about the races not being in the Winter Village…. I was looking forward to kick the elfs lol. Did you notice that the fog in Dinovalley is gone? And there’s huge ice pillars over a large distance there… in the Mirror Marshes and South Hoof Peninsula the fog is also gone. Does this indicate that something will happen in Dinovalley? I really hope so.

You missed possibly the worst part of this update. By jasper's old farm there are four fenced in areas with snow. You talk to james and he makes you buy a ticket. The prices vary as there are different sizes of snowy areas. You literally pay shillings to walk on a snow drift. 😑

It was my understanding they removed some of the more Americanized Christmas material (ie. Santa,) in order to be more neutral and respectful to holidays this time of year that follow similar, but not the exact same things. Considering Jorvik was founded by the Norse people and the event features Yule Goats, I’ve always interpreted that Jorvik is more rooted in paganism and more European traditions. Let’s not forget that the team is based in Sweden. As for the races, more content, and the event horses, will be coming soon. Yes the changes are new and the scheduling is different, but I disagree that the Winter Village has been “ruined” by such changes. You want a game that really ruins their events? Play School of Dragons, which is slowly milking HTTYD’s dying money cow dry by making its event currency pay to win and VERY difficult to grind for otherwise.

I've come to notice that for many people you can only do 9 of the aurora things for wishes daily, which is really stupid. It shouldn't be limited especially with the fact the races are gone. You get maybe 11-15 wishes a day and you need however many to trade in for the items. Its a waste of time, the last few years were better in my opinion. 🤨😔😩

In 3:48 if u wanna see through the telescope, u need to be on your horse and if u wanna move it around u need to move your cursor (up, down, left, right) that way to see the constellations!! I hope this helps :))

sso don't focus on their content. they only focus on making things look pretty and making horses. and now they're taking out the little content they used to have. I do believe that it'll be a race in the Winter Village later this Christmas. but still, why let us into the village when there's nothing to do there yet? SSO is getting less and less interesting as the time goes on… they are really milking it and just making things worse overall. Instead of focusing on things that need updating, such as quests and characters (I am aware it is currently being speculated that they are in the making), updated tack and clothing, body types, races, genders etc, they’re pushing out more and more horses and pets and all of this, all while raising the price of star coins. Yikes sso. Yikes.

I could go on and on for days about how star stable will die of if they keep this up, the Christmas update has been my most favorite holiday update, actually favourite update in general, but star stable ruined it, they only want money, they are money sucking, something that shows that is that they make everything extremely expensive, and you can only BUY things in the winter village, it's literally, I'm not kidding LITERALLY the only thing you can do in the winter village, what's that tell you? And now there is also only one event you can do outside the winter village, and they only give you 1 warm wish, we can't get anything unless we try hard enough, I also believe that sso if once again going to lie to us, about the updated character, they PROMISED they would give us updated characters in 2021, well they are running out of time, and I am starting to believe they are either gonna release it the last week of December, or lie to us and release the update in January, though the updated characters could be part of a Christmas update coming up. Now before anyone comes at me and tells me to give sso slack, why should I? This has been going on ever since the beginning of the year, we reached out to them, Been asking and warning them that if they don't stop they will die of, did they listen? No, the only thing they listened to was releasing the horses we wanted so they could get money, I could understand less exciting updates in 2020 bcuz covid was worse and hardly anyone could work, but now is not the excuse for that, they need to start listening to us. Denise I use to think that you were over reacting but now I completely understand, this comment may be dramatic but I want it to get people's attention. We can't let sso get away with this. (I also want to say that sso can't just release quest and races the next update, what's the point, sso immediately came out with races and quest the first day the winter village came out the first time they made it, saying that would just be an excuse to let them get away with it, I can understand the quest though they no longer have a quest team.)

You're so right. Funny thing about the characters though. They didn't actually say that they would update them this year. They just said that they're going to look into it. But the majority of players (including myself) interpreted it as "There are going to be new characters this year." Everybody was excited and was posting on social media and so on. And what did sso do? Correcting us and making it clear that they were only going to start working on them? No, they let us believe that we were getting new characters and we only now that they don't even KNOW when they're going to release them because of an answer on facebook. This is such a shitty behaviour thar I've never come across in any other game. What they did promise was a new racing system....but they also promised that in 2020. So yeah.

the glitch where the cat stays is if u look at a peice of clothing and then exit the shop whilst still looking at it it will look like you own it until u go bck to the stoe and view the item and then stop viewing it before you exit also its charcater xp not horse

Well.. I'm so in love with the new Winter Village :) and I trust SSO in their decisions. Yes, I can be sad for some things.. but no. I refuse to be so.. infairly angry with them. I'm fed up with People only trash the game. It's tiring :(
