The 1947 Texas City disaster ... her cargo of about 2,300 tons (about 2,100 metric tons) of ammonium nitrate...This started a chain reaction of fires and explosions aboard other ships and in nearby oil-storage facilities, ultimately killing at least 581 people, including all but one member of Texas City's volunteer fire department. From Wiki. This ship contains 20,000 TONS of ammonium nitrate TEN times the amount at Texas City.

Don't blame them. They have a beautiful clean country they don't want it blown to bits or polluted.

No mention of the ship running aground after departure from Murmansk. The entire thing smells like a classic Russian hybrid warfare setup.

Syrian owned, and they're allowing it to transit... Are they daft ?

When it comes to international waters, ships cannot be prevented from sailing. This is not a question of stupidity, but a matter of complying with international agreements

@@jensrasmussen4626 Until the cargo becomes a potential threat to the safety of that those in proximity during its transit. Also considering its owners, this also does not bode very well either. Assuming the ship makes it to its final destination, will its contents be used to create armaments that may later be used against "international" interest? Call me biased, but I'm not a fan of the conflict in Syria.

Sounds all very suspect to me. Given it was loaded in Russia and the current global situation......Russian attempt to blow up Oresund bridge or some other high impact infrastructure? Personally, I don't think this ship should be allowed into the Baltic.

@TyphoonVstrom Here it said to contain 20.000 ton of ammonium nitrate, wonder what that would do to our bridge and train tunnel if someone lights a smoke while passing.

Hey, take this serious. Terrorists took out our World Trade Center with planes. Now, they may be using this ship.
