See, one of the things that people often underestimate about Rodman is his basketball IQ on _both_ ends of the floor. You hear about The Worm's rebounding and defense all of the time, but remember that he figured out the triangle offense very quickly whereas many players coming into the offense often struggle with it for awhile before catching on. Rodman almost always knew when to make the right pass at the right time.

Nah Westbrook is still out rebounding the big men on his opponents team almost every night. If it was easy other players would try to do it too but other big men aren't even averaging 10 rb a game. They don't full court press anymore because the athletes at point guard would tear through it. Trying to full court press guys like Curry, Westbrook, Kyrie or even Luka is just giving them free breaks to the lane tbh. Players in the NBA are too fast & dynamic to run full court press in anything except situational possessions

@@realitybites629 It'll still even out in favor of the more talented & more athletic players (hint: that's the players today). NBA players today have to deal with way more complicated defensive schemes than the hardnosed but basic press/trap based man defenses of the 80s&90s. They'd handle it, idk why people think about hand checking as if it's some boogie man that would make modern players pee their pants.

@@m_js5709 dont exagerate it kid, try playing against a physical defense where a man can put his hands on you and see if you can dribble like steph or kyrie lol. Physical defense will not shot down a player but it will SLOW players way more than no contact defense. Today's rules are created to favor the offense thats why you think players today are faster and better lol. There is a segment where kenny smith perfectly demostrated how physical hands on defense forces a player to be a defensive ball handler. See how steph, westbrook, harden arent that effective in the PLAYOFFS when the refs allows more physical defense? Lol

One aspect of these classic games that seems to be lost is the memory of Detroit vs Chicago. I watched the Chicago/Detroit rivalry. Isiah was the 'Captain' of that bad boys squad, but Dennis was one of the eager lackeys. He was the young guy that Isiah could whisper to 'hey, long after the play, push them in the back, Scottie has a bad back, it might put him out of the game'. And Dennis would just do it. And Dennis comes to play for Chicago. As a fan I didn't know how to feel. The other time in sports I had this same feeling was when Bret Farve went to play for the Vikings. It's that same kind of situation. But man, Chicago loved Dennis. There was nearly a year long period where Dennis's hype and popularity was above Jordan's.
