Thanks for the tour of Saratoga Blvd. Going on two years ago, we adopted our little doggo from Peewee's Pet Adoption, located on the left a little bit after the expressway. He sure travelled a long distance to come to his new home in Canada (we live in Eastern Canada on the Atlantic Coast). It was great to see what his old stompin' grounds looks like. Thank you very much friend. In my younger days I would take a ferry from Bar Harbor Maine to Halifax, Nova Scotia. That's when the Canadian drinking age was 16. We would go there every weekend and then stumble home on Sunday night.

@@dennis78382I was born and raised in Halifax! We live in a small town just outside of it. Great little city and should your experimental drinking chapter begin in your younger years, Halifax is definitely the best and, I would say, safest place to get that phase out of your system, lol. Cheers!

I can't remember the name of the bar but I'm pretty sure it's still open. Might be under a different name. Friends of mine out of Austin were in a band and it's on their regular rotation. I was watching a video of theirs a few years back, and I recognized the bar. The owner at the time would have us moving kegs around and running to get ice when needed and would let us sleep in a really nice shed that was outback. I think there were three bars in that area back then and I see now there's over 200 bars and restaurants in Halifax.

@@dennis78382 What was the name of your friends' band? Many American bar bands names circulated and were quite popular, so I may recall it. Lol, yes, there's many bars, pubs and taverns in Halifax (it's the Celtic influence). The hotspots back then were The Liquor Dome, The Palace, Secretaries, The Pogue Fado, Misty Moon, Peddlers Pub, JJ's, Thirsty Duck, Seahorse Tavern, etc. all in very close proximity to one another...then to ward off the drunken sickness by about 5am, you'd probably head to The Apple Barrell for a Ginger Ale and pancakes, lol. Such great memories for sure. Glad you got to enjoy that time here too!

At 4:16 Taco Palenque on the left! I ate at their locations in Laredo and the Valley, and the food was delicious, very consistent, and their restaurants were always busy. Just before the HEB Plus there used to be Gattitown Pizza beside the Dollar Tree store. They had a great buffet and the best salad bar in town. It closed down before Hurricane Harvey. At Saratoga and Greenwood there's a water treatment plant on the left; that might be what you smelled. At the three-way stop, if you'd turned left, a short distance ahead is another three-way stop. Turn right there and that road winds around a back corner of the airport, down the side and connects to the service road of Hwy 44.

Saratoga Blvd. No doubt named after the USS Saratoga (CV-3). I recall there were 3 boulevards running parallel to each other, Yorktown, Saratoga, and Lexington (SPID). Wish I could find an old map from before they built the freeway.

Hi, I'm from Alice, Texas, but We do tend to go or drive thru Saratoga alot. My hubby has been in the hospital at Christus Spohn South Hospital which is next to Lubys Cafeteria. Plus we always need the Radiology Places behind Christus Spohn Hospital also. How can I forget Saratoga Blvd when a 3/4 ton truck hit us from behind and we were in a green light mine you. And yes, we Hired Herman and Herman Attorney At Law cause, we both got hurt too. So everytime we pass thru there we have bad memories. 🤦‍♀️

I have always wondered what was after the Greenwood right turn off Saratoga!!! I haven't ever been there either, well until now with this video. I always just turn right onto Greenwood if I am in that area. Reading from the comments though I guess the dump is over there. My kids will probably comment about the smell saying it's a fart. Lol. I plan on doing this drive one day, it looks nice despite the possible smell.

Saratoga is 1 of the nicer areas of corpus. I used to work on Saratoga and loved it. It's a different world from the West side where I grew up. I liked working on Padre island as well

I always hated going to the doctor, but if my doctor's office looked like a train I might change my mind about it lol. I Googled The Cattery and it's a "cage-free shelter and spay/neuter clinic." It sounds like one they have out in my area which I've been to a few times. That's a much better arrangement for shelter cats since they live more freely like they would in a house. Fun to discover a new part of the road an new places with you, thanks for taking us along!

I went to Bahama Bucks but its been a while. Its a chain snow cone place. Every HEB plus' I've been to had a Meat market where you could get custom cuts of meat, they often have a bakery, and little restaurant and a sit down area. I do Uber Eats for income I'm glad I don't have to deal with bad habits/attitudes. Anyways in October Farley Boat Works has a little get together in Robert's Point Park where there'll be all kinds of wooden boats on display I believe its the weekend of Halloween this year. No entry fee at all. I'll be there with my girlfriend. I think it would make a really cool video! Hope all is well!

Hey Dennis, just to let you know we sent you a package and you should be getting it today, if not yeterday so says the postoffice. Also I wanted to comment when you said on one of your latest videos that when someone interrupts you that you have no use for that person because they are rude for interrupting you and dont want to listen to what you have to say. I used to think that way also, but I wanted to share a little nowledge with you if I may. My husband does that to me ALL the time and it pissess me off.!!Come to find out he has A ADD Adult attention deficiet disorder ( although he probably has had it his younger childhood years as well). Anyhow the reason he interrupts me is because when he has a thought if he doesnt express his thought right then and there, he gets side tracked and forgets what he was going to say. Also he has had a stroke in the last few years and his doctor says that it effected his thinking processing time in his brain and he interrupts me because he processes info differently now and doesnt comletely finish his thinking about something before he responds, so just to let you know not ALL people who interupt are rude. But I do agree, some are rude without the above handicaps or defiticets that I mentioned above. And they interupt because they think their thought are more important than yours, and yes, I agree, THAT is VERY RUDE. Thanks for letting me express my opinion. Laura A
