I have a 77 Chevy cheyenne k5 blazer. Very little rust and has never been in an accident. I'm the the third owner according to my father. It is not numbers matching. Built in flint michigan for California for the year 77. Original it had 350 small block with turbo 350 trans and np203 transfer case. It now gas 383 stroker crate motor from gm performance parts, a built 700r4 transmission, and rebuilt np205 transfer case. My father is passed on now. I told him and mom I would fully restore the k5 with time. I'm honered to see such a person like u in this video giving positive support for the old k5's.

Honestly finding perfect old classics like that is probably the hardest thing to do anymore. most have been slammed, lifted, stripped into parts or turned to something that cost so much just because of the unoriginal parts. classic cars have been slowly disappearing and it’s heart breaking to watch car by car disappear or become something that doesn’t show it’s history. honestly thank you so very much for not doing what most would do and completely making the vehicle mostly aftermarket and over priced. thank you for keeping the original look of the truck and especially the motor!

Beautiful K5 Dennis. I love these earlier SUVs and have had many I have bought and did partial restorations on. I sell most after I redo them but my current keepers are 2 Broncos (68 and 77), 2 K5 Blazers (72 and 75), a 1980 Ramcharger, a 1969 International Harvester Scout, and a 68 Jeep Wagoneer. I don’t think I’ve seen a more beautiful K5… really makes me miss mine… even if it was an old rust bucket with holes in the floorboard that guzzled gas faster than a Marine on Liberty guzzles alcohol. It never failed me… failed one single time on my mom when the driveshaft slipped smacked the pavement at about 60 MPH and cracked the transmission. Would’ve loved to have fixed it up by my parents scrapped it while I was in boot.

What an amazingly solid and unbelievably solid well kept original equipment old blazer. I recently had a friend give me the identical twin to this blazer! Everthing except the choice in colors. It was still surprising to hear the list of options where identical to the one I have now. A.C., cruise control, 400small-ishblock lol, along with all power windows and stock stereo. Of course, the identical part quickly ends there, because the very northwestern tip of Washington state, is famous for its grueling wet winters around Forks Washington, plus it has miles and miles of easily accessible logging roads, gravel pits, mudholes, quad trails, power line trails, and beer serving last chance gas stations, that are not usually passed by, before a weekend hunting adventure or camping trip. This seemingly routine quickstop, for munchies and supplies, almost always gets seduced by the beer of choice impulse buy, that unfortunately spins the once bright future of a potential classic , much like the one in this video, and turns it, instead, to the one given to me three weeks ago because, his housing authority won't allow any vehicles that cannot be driven legally down the highway, nor do they wish to be able to see it from their own windows. Probably won't be seeing a person like me moving in anytime soon hahaha, I carved my initials onto the original white trash garbage can lol. It's more of a term of endearment in my area anyways haha. And no, that does NOT mean anything racial!! Absolutely not! I have friends of every ethnic background, and we are ALL quite happy to be around each other, we just put trash after all our skin colors proudly

When I was a kid my Dad had a 1976 K5 Blazer w lock out hubs wasn’t full time 4 wheel drive… When I became adult I always wanted to own one of these bad boys .. So in 1994 .. I was ran across a 1979 K5 Blazer red/ white 2 tone factory paint called her peppermint paddy due to her red/ white paint scheme like a peppermint disk … it was full time for wheel drive so had mileage was horrible got about 8 miles to the gallon but she was in perfect working condition inside and out .. drove it from 94 until 2002 … I have owned several suburban , tahoes, Yukons , and Escalades throughout out my life time… That 79 K 5 along with a 1989 Woody Hayes Ohio state special edition suburban will be hands down the best vehicles I ever owned… Long Live Chevy/GMC … ijs 🐐🐐🐐🐐❤️❤️❤️🔥🔥🔥🔥✌🏾✌🏾✌🏾

I had a 78 Cheyenne Blazer that was an odd duck from the factory. 305 2bbl, 4 speed, lockouts, Ralleys with 10-15 Firestones, dual exhaust, 2.76 gears. It got 10mpg and would cruise at 55 in 3rd. Put a 350 4bbl with a very small camshaft in it. 12mpg. Put 3.73s under it with 9.00-16s. 13.5 mpg. Brown and white with the same interior.

Great move on the 2 tone, makes a big different I think. All silver would've been boring. Now it's just right. 👍🇺🇸
