I had the exact same experience. For decades I only had Sony receivers. I then bought the Denon AVR X6700H. As soon as I started playing music, I was awestruck at the clarity and detail of the sound that was coming out of my Klipsch speakers. The Klipsch never sounded that good with the Sony. Believe me, they sounded great, but I didn't know what was missing till the Denon was playing. I clicked on your video, because I literally had a similar set up the with brands that you have, just a different model tower speaker.

The floor standers are Kilpsch R-26F, and the center is a Klipsch RP-440C. Fortunately, I purchased these in 2017 before the newer models with the weird copper colored hardware came out soon after. If I am not mistaken their latest line of speakers don’t have the copper colored hardware anymore.

@jonathanjovenal11 ай бұрын
Both receivers are comparable and to be honest you can’t go wrong with either one. I believe Denon, Yamaha, and Sony are in my top 3 brands for receivers. My opinion: I would still go with the Denon brand receiver. For two reasons. First one is the styling; I prefer the traditional look of a receiver with two knobs on both sides and a display on the center. If you like the futuristic look of the Yamaha, go for it. Second is that Yamaha is not a sound focused company. In the process of making large purchases on anything, I prefer to go with a brand that focuses specifically on whatever it is I am trying to purchase. Yamaha is simply everywhere: motorcycles, jet skis, engines in lawnmowers, etc. Imagine buying a Ford brand A/V receiver… That’s just my take on it.

I have an old Onkyo 17 years old, it still works :-) But I want an upgrade. First I wanted the Sony TA-AN1000. It is without a radio and the price for now is nonsense - stupidity. I was also thinking about the Sony HTR 790. That is quite old again. I wanted OK connectivity to SONY tv. Finally, after much hesitation, I chose the DENON 1800 DAB for Christmas under the tree :-). Hopefully it will be enough in terms of performance. I have Polk Signature 5 speakers 8ohm. Size like Jonathan in the video. Denon and Polk should probably be OK, they are probably also commercially linked. Jonathan: how do you feel after a few days? What's the feel/difference: old Sony versus Denon? Thanks in advance for the response and interesting video....

After a few days of owning it and bumping music with it over this past weekend, I am 100% satisfied with my purchase. I feel like the audio is better and I love the different sound modes it offers for playing music, shows, and movies. For me, the way it physically looks plays a big factor when purchasing and I love the styling of the receiver. The GUI is also way better than my old Sony, but I am not sure if Sony updated their GUI’s in their newer receivers. All in all, I highly recommend this receiver.
