It’s been almost two years since Pioneer DJ released their latest flagship media player, the CDJ-3000. But with the advent of new competition in the market, their dominance of the world’s DJ booths was no longer a certainty this time around. On the new episode of Beatsource Tech, Mojaxx reviews the players two years in, and examines whether the company has done enough to retain the "club standard" title in 2022.

Overpriced and underfeatured (as usual for Pioneer gear) was my impression at launch and despite some firmware upgrades this hasn't changed, unfortunately. I would take a pair of Denon DJ SC6000s anytime over these, no matter the price.

Same, I wished more venues and DJs would switch to Denon, its not even up for discussion that Denon is clearly better and has features that is just straight useful. Like streaming, for example. Pioneer is way too overpriced, even the 2000nxs2 is still way too expensive

Still waiting to try the 3000's, so glad you've made this vid Mojaxx! Even if I had the money it's gonna be a while with the global chip issues to purchase, but always appreciate your solid & honest views whenever a new video is uploaded. I hope Pioneer take note for the need of a cheaper media player so we can leave laptops out of the booth forever!

Pioneer have neglected affordable full sized players. Still using my XDJ 1000 MK1’s from 2014 because there hasn’t been a good upgrade option. It seems they are pushing controllers more and more but that doesn’t work for everyone. Would like to see an XDJ 1000 MK3 which has modern features but with prices always increasing, I doubt it would be considered “affordable”

I love my XDJ-1000 MK2 especially paired with the XP1/XP2, but I’d love to see a MK3 player with a better screen and the addition of Hot Cue and Beat Jump buttons. I have a pair of 3000 on back order, but there are a lot of bars and small clubs that simply won’t stretch to 3000’s that I feel a more mid level player would be really suited to. Somewhere around £1200-1500 each.

On a marketing view , I think that pioneer wouldn’t bring out a cheaper price player I would love to , but I don’t think that this would happen . What the streaming consider : yes please! I’m using Beauport and beatsource link for2 years and I love it . Yes I have sometimes download issues ( 1/10 ) but for the rest,it works great . use it while we drive ( I play during the Rollerbike parade ). The one thing that I don’t like is that I always have to carry my laptop with me. I repeat I standing on a pick up truck playing while this one is driving through the streets. So I don’t think this is good ( all the vibration ) for my laptop. So yes I will love a solution where I wouldn’t need my laptop.

I'm one of the few people who chose to use the XDJ700s because they're just way more portable and fit into much smaller booths and for someone who loves 4 deck mixing booths are never big enough. I wish they'd do a mk2 to the XDJ700 but I would be surprised if that ends up happening

As a long time Traktor user (Since the 2000s), I had bought the MK1 XDJ-1000s for exactly the purpose the CDJ-3000 is made for.. However at the time I never loved the sound quality on them.. I ended up using them in HID mode with a Xone PX5 mixer... I sold my XDJ-1000s to get the first Denon Prime SC5000+X1800 kit because it promised to be the "Traktor in a box" solution allowing me to leave the laptop behind.. Fast forward to 4 years later and I still have and love the Denon Kit (It truly was future proofed). I use them for mobile DJ style events (wedding and corporate etc)... Where that leaves me today on the topic of Pioneer CDJ3000, they look great. I'm sure they sound excellent and are a pleasure to play on.. But as a home/end user it isn't something I would see myself buying. I am not tied down to any particular platform (even though I still create my playlists in Rekordbox and export them to other software).. I do understand however that some people get comfortable with a particular brand experience and will never change (like iPhone owners for example).. And as such, if the majority of DJs are already more comfortable on Pioneer Rekordbox / Hardware.. I don't see the "competition" ever being able to sway those users...

How did you find the PX5 mixer compared to the X1800, especially sound quality?
@JamesPiquette
@JamesPiquette 6 ай бұрын
@@ChrisBlade. I won't lie, I REALLY liked the PX5. It was still an analog mixer that sounded great when summing audio sources (layering extra loops on top of tracks etc...). I have since picked up a Xone 96 as well.. That being said, the X1800 sounds great as well. Especially when using the onboard soundcard (with Serato or Traktor for example). I appreciate both mixers for different reasons.. in the same way we can appreciate cars for different reasons. These days, I mostly use the X1800 Mixer with the SC5000 decks. If you are looking to buy one over the other, I'd suggest not leaving it exclusively up to the sound quality alone.. I'd also consider how and where you want to use each mixer.. (with the onboard soundcard, or external decks etc).

@@JamesPiquette thanks for the reply, I currently have the SC6000’s with the X1850 mixer, I’m very happy with it and it’s just for my home set up, I do live streaming and a few parties etc, but the other week I took my Denon players down to my friends for a session, hooked them up to his Xone 96, he has the same speakers as me too, and I was blown away with the sound quality, I’ve come home and the difference is crazy, which is why I’m considering the PX5, as I would still like to have the effects as an option on the mixer
@JamesPiquette
@JamesPiquette 6 ай бұрын
@@ChrisBlade. Try (before buying) to listen to one in a shop. I'm confident you will like the PX5. I wouldn't get rid of the X1850 as it has some advantages with your SC6000s (like SoundSwitch / Engine lighting integration, or on air mode).. The PX5 also isn't as expensive as the Xone 96. It's a very nice option that will have that sound character you are looking for with analog audio summing on A&H mixers.

Hey Mojax, love the channel - long time follower. However, I am very surprised that more noise hasn't been made about how the new APU handles interpolation of tracks, specifically with Master Tempo and the "Key Sync" enabled. The new processing power has SIGNIFICANTLY improved the implementation of the MT algorithm - DJ Ravine's initial review did a small side by side comparison with the NXS2 and it's like night and day. And the Key Sync feature is just not spoken about enough. AFAIK Digital DJ Tips are the only ones to correctly identify just how elegant the system works when mixing harmonically. These are capable of extreme manipulation of the source content with incredible results. I would love to see an in depth feature covering these aspects of the players! Obviously all of the other improvements are nothing to be snuffed at - but I really feel like this is what it's worth paying the big bucks for!

I don't know how you can say that they have won this generation. Considering they came out after 2 iterations of the competition (Denons). They could of done a lot better with their tech. As far as I'm concerned the Denons still have the edge, but hey everyone has their opinion.
@matthewjswider
@matthewjswider 2 жыл бұрын
You’re forgetting that the few things denon has over the pioneer are still things the pioneer could be capable of with software updates, which are undoubtedly coming in the future, otherwise such a robust set of internals wouldn’t be necessary. Getting the software just right and maintaining the functionality and speed of the unit will be key to these functions not becoming a hassle, which I believe pioneer is capable of handling. The denons are a top tier unit, and none of this is to say anything other than such.

@matthewjswider 2 жыл бұрын
@@Funky1ism no, not really. I think with the pandemic, and the uncertainty of their chips continuing to be manufactured, and them either having to re design some internal parts for that or the logistics of setting up a new supply chain, the loss of revenue, I think 1000 different reasons could be why they haven’t released any of that stuff yet. And what would all of us be saying if we can barely get our hands on one yet they’re releasing updates like these? I know I would be saying “thanks for the updates nobodys using.” Because at the moment all I can say is “thanks for making this review, I’m sure tiesto and the rest of the festival Dj’s who actually touch these things will be giving a thumbs up and dropping an F in the chat for everyone else who will see these next century.” Matter of fact, I think pioneer, and serato, are both dropping the ball by not having more integration, and then again by their use of subscription services for software that used to come with gear, or for free. Example, buy a djms11, that’s a hardware unlocking device, go out to play at the club and they have a nxs setup, you’re fucked. If you get a piece of gear with a license it should work across the board. I have a very big issue with this situation and I’m done advertising for them. All pioneer DJ and serato logos on my equipment have been covered.

@@matthewjswider i hear you… Don’t get me wrong, i am with you, i think the cdj3000 is heavily overpriced, so much so, that its ridiculous to ask that price, while a Denon player that is just as good, if not better, is way cheaper. I would personally take the Denon, but a lot of Dj’s don’t care about the extra tech of functions the Denon have, thats why they rather stay with Pioneer, because its familliar and does what they need, instead of evolving.

I gotta be completely honest, I'm surprised Denon DJ dropped the ball with their "Change your ryder" marketing campaign. They had everything going for them considering they had superior hardware for YEARS before the 3000s even came out, and still NO ONE (at least from what I can tell in the states) uses them. I still have yet to see a single Denon player in a club, let alone a mixer. It's like that market completely ignored them and simply waited for the 3000s to come out. Very little info online tbh. It's a shame they don't have a £1000~ media player which is abit cheap but worked well with a proper mixer/ booth still. Been saying for a while now, if controllers had decks and mixers as separates- allowing you to upgrade as and when you see fit- that would be sick Nd pioneer could take back that mid range market they once had. Fx6 don't have balanced outputs I believe, all in ones are too pricey for most hobbyists. There products are always on point, shame there not being as competitive in the pricing space lol. Dennon have been showing pioneer up for a while now, weather that be with 2 deck feature, or stems. Even seen numarks all in one used at a load of free parties. Been a pioneer fan for a min now but they need to innovate abit more in my personal opinion. Alot of these features are cool but I know I won't really use them. I primarily mix dnb/jungle, started off using technics, and alot of these buttons are useless to me lol. Never use loops, might have a hot cue for a drop but could easily skip to the right point. I dont even use effects much to be honest.. mainly chopping on a vertical or cutting on a cross fader haha. Sick video tho keep em coming

Funny enough I just used this for the 1st time I like it but I find the nxs2 mixer a lil confusing as I was dropped in on the fly at the club. But over its great. But I used it in serato. The DJ switch over is clunky the way the club set it up. Maybe I’m missing something. But overall great. Denon is killer though!

Father Taj here. I’m not “deep of pocket” but Igot them. Mainly because I want to spin globally. As you said, they are and will be the standard, and I wanted to learn on them. Coming from vinyl using Serato this is a big learning curve but why not? Now when I play on the 2000’s I get tripped up because they don’t have the same layout which works really well. Although I must say that I’m still figuring out what all the buttons do. I’ll say also that the Denon gear is really sexy. Flat out, they make some good gear. But currently, that’s not what I expect to find in the bigger clubs and festivals. Again, I want to spin world wide so learning how to use these fantastic machines seemed the right way to go for me. Thanks for the great vids. They are helping.

I like returning to these reviews after the fact to see how they hold up. Returning to this one in December 2023, after most of us have been outside and back in clubs and at festivals for at least 1 year. Firstly, this is still a great overall review of the unit. But the question still remains: how many people who are in the market for DJ-oriented, turntable replacement media players play in clubs enough to warrant the inexcusably massive price delta between the Pioneer CDJ 3000 and the Denon SC6000? Even allowing for the unusual difficulty of actually buying an SC6000 in the USA right now, it seems all the arguments about the CDJ hinge mostly on “club standard.” We’re back outside for a year now: How many of us are playing in clubs?

2x cdj 3000 + an XDJ XZ is deadly, full link connectivity, essentially a djm 900 nxs2 in the middle but 4 decks for the price of 2 plus a mixer. Only upgrade would need to be the soundcard, can’t stand up to a djm900 nexus never mind a zone but the 4 decks definitely makes up for that on small sound systems 🤙

Why would you need to upgrade the soundcard? There is no difference in sound, otherwise they would be unsuitable in a professional setup. It's 2023 and DACs have been transparent for decades now. Also why would you couple a standalone player with a 4-decl controller?? I'm curious which features of the CDJ3000 make it so deadly, since they offer nothing you can't get somewhere for much less money, except for the Pioneer logo and UI.

Ive seen a few DJ's using the cloud feature with a cheap "Wireless Ethernet Bridge". Typically about £30 for a tplink one. And then paired to the hotspot on their phone. Not as nice as Denon but can be made to work cheaply enough with small kit that fits in your backback. Im a Denon guy myself. While i will use a CDJ if thats all there is, my preference is to use DenonDJ. The feature set is just way ahead which enables me to deliver more in the style that i play.

Also, a few features (that other players might have) doesn't really beat out the confidence you feel when you step in the club with your USB, the set up is almost exactly the same as you have at home, you just walk up to the players and go. It looks really professional too.

If you can only use one brand's UI and hardware you're not an artist/musician, you're an entertainer and not a professional at that imho. Also it's a flawed comparison. How would we know if other competitors build shitty or robust hardware if they never got a chance to prove themselves, since Pioneer has been in 99% of all clubs for well over 10 years. Also if you look closer you will lose your confidence with the CDJ3000s rather quickly. They have only one usb-port, no internal harddrive. So whatt happens if that port breaks or the usb-drive accidentally gets disconnected? That's right, the typical 4-bar-emergency-loop... in their top-of-the-line media-player. The Denon's buffer the entire song so I can transition to another unit with ease and no awkward random looping to the audience. And don't even get me started on paying almost double the price for one single layer compared to Denon's dual-layers. Whether you need them or not it's outrageous that Pioneer is asking for that kind of money for less features and redundancies compared to the competition and people will still buy it because "MuH cLuB sTaNdArD!".

@@iSkyline1 Completely disagree with you on the "if you only use one brand's ui or hardware you're not an artist/ musician." There are many famous top musicians in huge bands that stick with one brand because they like the sound of their instruments/ pedals/ software. Some musicians back in the past preferred a certain kind of wood for their instrument. Have no idea where you are getting that from.... Plus, I guess, I'm not nearly as judgemental on other musicians/ artists as that. I try to support others in the scene, I don't need to be negative. Just because I prefer Pioneer doesn't mean I haven't used the other players. I have a Denon set up as well and have a lot of experience with the Prime Four as well as other companies beyond that. The Pioneer work flow model just feels the most intuitive to me, everything just feels like it's where it's supposed to be. Pioneer gear tends to also have a much higher resale value (and be more in demand) than the other companies (go checked the prices on used gear) and is still the club standard- even if the Denon players have more features. I stand with my original comment on calling it a "safe buy."

@@kennethmalafy8012 It's not about preference but a monopoly held by a manufacturer that is releasing subpar equipment for ridiculous prices. I see many DJs on gigs complaining if they have to play on anything but Pioneer-stuff coupled with their fanboy attitude and hearing "club standard" every damn time this happens. I have a hard time staying positive when it's just people dunking on anything without a Pioneer-logo, with the only reasoning being "ClUb StAnDaRd" and "I hear brand X is crap, Pioneer all the way". There is a slight exception for Xone 92s and 96s, which are only good for oldschool-techno imho. And we know that Denon offers with the SC6000 than Pioneer does with the CDJ3000, it's jsut a fact. The only reason why it's a safe buy is because of the monopoly Pioneer has. "Pioneer gear tends to also have a much higher resale value" Not over here in europe. Resale value right now is basically retail from 1-2 years ago, no matter the brand. I see used Denon mixers going for at most 200€ less than current retail price, anything less than that are scams.

@@iSkyline1 I will give you a phenomenal piece of advice that will do you well (if you chose to take it): Don't worry about what other people think or what gear they have. Focus on your own music and improving with whatever gear you have. Pioneer is the club standard because they were the first company to get a really good cd player for DJing. They cornered the market at that point, just like Technics did with the turntables (you would literally never see non technic turntables). Now if you are a club owner- your CDJ breaks, why in the world would you run out and buy a Denon? You have used pioneer for years, it has worked well for years, you have all Pioneer equipment..... Why would you replace a CDJ with a different brand or even buy a whole new system for a different company? You wouldn't- that's why Pioneer is the standard, no other reason. It has nothing to do with fanboys or anything, it's simple business. Why doesn't Pioneer innovate? Because= customers are happy with the current Pioneer gear- if they change something- thy could alienate some of their market. Stores can not even keep CDJs in stock! They sell out the first day. Look at the price on the used CDJ 2k (the old model)- it is almost the same as the price of a new one! Why would anyone in their right mind change their product in those conditions? Even someone who has almost little or no business sense can see that Pioneer has no reason to change. I stay with my recommendation that Pioneer DJ Products are a "safe buy." I don't even think you can argue with that. My recommendations for you are in the first sentences of this post. You will never grow as an artist if you focus on the negative. Maybe in a different music scene (one that enjoys negative vibes) but in EDM, the vibe is positivity. If you do not come off as positive, most people in this scene will not work with you.

@@kennethmalafy8012 "Don't worry about what other people think or what gear they have. Focus on your own music and improving with whatever gear you have." I don't live in a vacuum and neither do you, no one really does. If I put anything other than Pioneer in the booth people complain. So I have to consider what gear others are using, even if I prefer a different setup myself. Please don't confuse me being critical with negativity. Not everything in this world is positive and being able to handle valid criticism is essential if you ever want to grow not just as an artist but as a person. If you feel the need to defend a brand that deliberately limits their hardware and offers gear that is outdated from the time of release while charging almost double compared to the competition...then you're a fanboy, no offense. You can innovate without a complete re-design. Features like dual-layer, full-song buffering, multiple usb-ports and mounts for hard-drives should be standard in professional DJ-players, for redundancy alone. Yet Pioneer doesn't offer any of those features in their lineup. It goes to show that their status as club-standard is based solely on reputation and the reluctancy of DJs to experiment and learn new things. If you wanted to grow as an artist you would be excited for new features and innovation, even if there is a learning curve. I rarely see that attitude with professional DJs and so many of them don't actually care about good sound and the technical aspects of their craft. There is a reason why most sound-engineers don't like working with DJs. "Why would you replace a CDJ with a different brand or even buy a whole new system for a different company? You wouldn't-" Except in principle you actually would, happens in other industries all the time. You go where you get the best bang for your buck or the best performance. Pioneer just doesn't offer either of those, they used to but not anymore. Also it's not just Pioneer that is sold out at the moment. You can hardly get any gear from reputable brands right now.

Its not just records any more so when you zero in on "media players" you get much more competition which for me, makes this an apples to oranges sort of comparison. Great comment tho...really.

I have some i think they willbe aroundanother2 years before pioneer bring out the first all in one, complete with subscription service and beatport integration of some kind. I agree, we need a 1000 or something similar for home. I wanna buy these for home, but not for that kinda money. I know for fact pioneer wanna sell as many as these as possible before shoving a 4000 down our throats. But i started djing in 92, nowadays everyone wants to be a dj 🙄 it aint a bad thing. But i personally have moved on from these and gone back to vinyl. Kinda full circle if you will. I spend about 2k a month on it, but least vinyl isnt going anywhere. I would like to see more people going all in on vinyl and actually learning the art of mixing over just using a sync controller or cdjs every now and then. The dj setup should always have at least 1 turntable in it. Imo.

Playing vinyl is not an option for everyone. Besides the hassle to carry the records (I mean, not a bag of 60, but carrying 200), it’s quite expensive and these days, vinyls are hard to get, due to pressing limitations, small or bigger labels have. I love vinyls (I have 5000) and keep on buying a little, but digital, opens up for more creativity. 2 different feelings…

The 3K are not James Hype preference btw. There’s some videos of him and his tour manager explaining why they’re back on 2knx2. Pioneer gives top clubs and festivals their gear and also sign Djs as marketing strategy. I love Denon and I have sc5x and sc5m + 1800 mixer and prime go. The prime go is the best thing ever invented for mobile Djs. The 6k series is just way too beautiful. I love the competition but pioneer vs Denon is like Apple vs Samsung. We can’t convince people otherwise.

Yes! I owned NXS2s. Switched them out for SC6000s. After 1.5 years, went back to Pioneer w' the 3000s. The difference between the NXS2s and the 3000s are stark!! Yes, I noticed almost immediately that my Lossless files, as well as my few 320CBR tracks were immediately better sounding on the 3000s vs. my NXS2s and the SC6000s. DVS doesn't apply to me, so the standalone hardware's limitations, by comparison, don't apply to me at the moment. Denon is gaining ground, but the 3000s are the most complete decks that Pioneer have ever released. The differences are purely proprietary. For the average user, the 3000 is superb! But, as the tech evolves, and the up and coming generation begins to demand more, Denon will more than likely come up ahead. Pioneer don't appear to be willing to move beyond what the Pros demand. Not even taking into account that the next generation of pros will demand more. Like I said in a recent Reddit convo.....standalone hardware won't peak until' they can match, feature for feature, what DVS software can achieve. Pioneer clearly aren't on that path. Denon are, however!!!

@@alexsedman1 I disagree. Mojaxx has never been one to be a whore for the industry. Look back at his livestreams. He uses both Denon and Pioneer kit. I think that he has given us his honest take on each hardware manufacturer's kit for this generation. I'm sorry he didn't emphatically endorse what you Denon fanboys wanted to hear. But, judging by the parties/festivals I've seen over the past couple years, I'd say that Denon haven't convinced peeps, other than the paid endorsements, to "change their rider", or "embrace the future" quite yet.

the notion that these 10:54 CDJ3000's aren't supposed to be bought by DJ's, but still expecting DJ's to be comfortable performing on them when they show up to play a set is like telling someone they're gonna use a Custom Shop Strat or Les Paul, but they can't practice on that same guitar at home. that type of formula makes the first portion of your set awkward while you're feeling your way around. just buy the Denons and bring them with you to your show

It seems like it’s only the club standard because clubs are buying it, not because DJs want it. I own a pair of SC6000s and they are nothing short incredible, better than pioneer, and every DJ whose played on my gear agrees.

I fully second that. Still happy with my DENON sc6000m’s after almost 2 years. Pioneer Dj’s jaws drop when I show them what I can do with them that the industry standard can’t do. Pioneer dont make flagship players for DJ’s anymore. They make it for club owners and event companies. They can go on like that for another 5 years and they’ll see what their real end users (dj’s) end up doing.

Not always though. Denon reported that 31 DJ's this year on the 3 week Tomorrowland used DenonDJ SC's. So popular that the main stage had the 2 setups side by side on sliding desks that could be moved into position in just seconds as each DJ came on and off stage.

The ultimate choice is simple. If you want to buy a player that you'll see at every club and keep it's resale value, buy the Cdj. Now now if you want to take your dj skills to the next level, a feature proof player and won't worth anything after you buy it. Get the sc6000. I am a denon fanboy but i had to get the 3000. Lets say i dont want want them any more after 3 years or so guitsr center will buy them assap

I have the cdj 2000 Nexsus 1’s and the djm nexus 900 mixer. And although I love these new players. I might only ever upgrade the mixer to a djm 900 nxs 2 or buy a Rane mp2015, but that’s about it. I think for what you need they have everything (nexus 1 or 2) . The 3000’s are great not knocking them. A lot more buttons and whistles, the screens and cue buttons in the rainbow , looks great . Instant doubles button 😆.. but I don’t need all those bells and whistles to do a great mix .. And I think slowly add things ( really slowly 🙄) they can reinvent and add things for ever and ever over and over again amen. And everyone just laps it up and gives them the down payment of there Morgage hahah But at the point of the nexus and nexus 2’s I think it’s like what do you really need more of to mix .. yeah Wi-Fi , and connectivity streaming , but you have to ask your self , these TINY things could Have been added at the point of the original 2000 and nexus .. there not THE CUTTING EDGE of technology, others did it then , other tech had it back then , and are doing now. I mean that’s my point , The tech was possible then ?? 🤷🏻‍♂️You can’t argue with that. I worked with PCs for ages and the tech inside a cdj is really , kind basic. And in house software has always room to improve I think pioneer monopolises on there market rain and dribbles out there new features and adds new things that seem great at the time , but are soon got over .. when they could have just given it us all before . Basically They carrot dangle so much(as does a huge amount of the music tech industry) . And charge FAR FAR to much .. I’m happy with what I have . And I thank pioneer for all they have done , but I think they kinda take the Mickey to much . If they made them cheaper and they gave us it all even back then , they still would have made there money and reputation. I can’t wait to see the competition make even more waves in the Dj pool and see even new company’s step up to the plate. When that happens it will be a balanced market and you will see pioneer drops prices to more realistic terms , but until then it’s sell the sliver ware and you grandma for the new shiny shiny haha 😆 👏👍 And Mojaxx you are awesome . Long live your channel 🥂👏👏👏

Mojaxx you should do an educative episode talking about Digital summing e digital quantisation vs Analog summing, how we humans hear the sound ( analog ), because the majority of DJs are deeply ignorant on the metter even some big cats on the industry don't have the minimal basics, why do this, because i think that might be very helpful for people to make more wise and better quality choices spending less money instead of getting screwed by the marketing of big corporations. CDJs are just good souncards with jog-wheel and buttons same is the mixer (the summing of the tracks happen in digital domain 0s & 1s and is digitally quantised than converted which artificial summing as it is mathematically quantised), by simply using traktor, serato etc + a sound card like RME, Antelope and a quality Analog mixer the result would be much cheaper and of a higher quality in terms of sound perceived by the audience and no need to pull out 10000$ every 4 years. CDj has more the purpose to make DJs look that they are doing something where in reality they don't do much creatively speaking . People get partisanship about WAV or LP which are both great and there is not such big difference between but the real huge difference is the digital summing (artificial quantisation) vs analog summing (natural summing). Sound is more HIFI and better for human ear if mixing 2 digital files in an analog mixer than mixing 2 LP in a digital mixer.
