@@centerforard lol yes i did notice that doc. Unfortunately there’s a lot of dentists out there that are clearly in the wrong field and there’s definitely assistants that are as well. She most definitely is highly skilled and working for an incredible dentist!! I wish you were in VA lol however, my dentist at the VA hospital is a great dentist so I got lucky, but I don’t have any back teeth and they don’t provide or send us out, for implants and I don’t want dentures so I’ll have to try and save up for some implants one day. Then I’ll have to come see you if you haven’t retired by then! Lol love the vids doc, keep up the hard work! A lot of dentists are learning a lot from ya I’m sure!!

I sadly can say we don't have that mixer, neither the cup that she pours in (similar size), in my clinic we use regular water cups. To be honest I'm surprised that you used cheek retractor at the beginning cause I was thinking what about the vestibules? but you got that covered up, and spray anesthesia isn't available also but I work my way around to get it done. This is how experience shows the difference than only studying. Great video Doc, thank you.

@@centerforard I appreciate your reply. It’s the same method you are using in your video but with a plastic piece (not sure if you are using metal) but once it was removed from my mouth the part where I am missing a tooth obviously didn’t have an impression, she gently pressed down on that specific part with her finger, almost as to check the consistency and firmness. But I lost peace of mind at that moment and felt like the mold may have been tampered like it was no longer my exact bite. Especially considering these procedures are not cheap.

You certainly want to keep an alginate impression hydrated and pour it within a short period of time. I am not sure exactly what the time limit is, but you are probably correct. The nice thing about alginate impressions is that they are usually opposing models or study models, so perfection is not an issue. Take your practice to the Top Tier. Probably 99% of dental offices do not use a rubber dam, take face bow mountings, take diagnostic photographs, perform a comprehensive exam, have a separate, formal consultation appointment, understand how to manipulate a patient's mandible into centric relation, truly understand occlusion, how to treat myofacial pain or TMJ dysfunction or how to read a TMJ - MRI either.
