The dental industry, namely dentists with their own practices, should be ashamed for the outrageous prices being charged. $1k - $2.5k for less than two hours of work and $50 of materials probably made in China for pennies. Over 1000% markup. Shame!

I had all upper veneers done on my top ten teeth for cosmetic reasons but also because my top teeth were getting grind down and I had no lip support and I would wake up with dry upper lips. If I knew what I knew now, I would had tried to have all crowns because I had the veneers fall off too many times because they don’t have as much support as a crown, they cover more of the tooth to protect from plague and when you do need them replaced it is impossible to get the exact shade of white that all your original crowns or veneers were so eventually you have teeth with different shades. I’ve never had a crown fall out on its own but I’ve had veneers fall out too often.

Yeah, I got a temporary crown yesterday. I have to get a root canal on the same tooth. I can tell you that I was numbed with local throughout the procedure, but it definitely was invasive as they drilled my tooth to a little stub. I had to pay $1,460 for it. I'm heading back to Budapest to have 6 crowns placed on my top teeth as Ive been having issues over the last few years - probably due to my prescription meds for illness. Where Im from the cost for root canals and crowns is exorbitantly expensive coming in at 5000 minimum JUST for the crowns never mind the post core and build up..or literally anything else. Last time I was there in March I had the hygienist treatment first, i had 11 old fillings replaced, temporary filling along with a root canal AND surgical extraction of an impacted wisdom tooth for less than €2000. When I return next month to have part 2 of the treatment plan done and dusted, I will again see the hygienist for treatment, panoramic xray, one filling to be completed and then 6 temporary crowns,2 glass fibre post core and 4 core build ups while my 6 new zirconia crowns are made in the onsite lab over 5 days. The 6 zirconia crowns cost €450 altogether compared to €5000 for 6 here! Im basically paying for the whole lot and its still under the orice of crowns alone here. The clinic is really nice, really well run and the staff are so nice and very understanding, always making sure you are comfortable. Gotta admit, its daunting as ive never had a crown before, just two root canals so Im gonna watch the other video to see what im in for 😨 The clinic is also attached to a hotel so you literally get out of bed and get dressed etc and head down the elevator to the clinic! My concern with going all crowns is that I have to shave down all my teeth and I’m worried about the pectin and sensitivity vs just getting veneers but I want them to last and because of my bite I’m wondering if I should get the stronger option. Unless you absolutely need crowns due to a cracked tooth, keep your natural teeth as long as you can. They are never going to fit like your naturals, and they can harbor bacteria in between the margins, causing all kind of problems from inflamed gums to infection to bone loss to abscesses.

@@TeethTalk please inform me about implants please

Ok, in terms of less pain, less fuss, durability, no replacement needed, it seems to me that crowns win over veneers. It also seems they have a function beyond aesthetics. Can you confirm Whitney? ❤😢

Can we go for composite filling after RCT ? Please reply

If you get veneers. There will be space at the top part of the teeth. Like a tiny space between the veneer and gum line. Overtime this will cause discolouring and you will have a black stain between your gum and teeth. Im worried if there is a tiny space it will cause decay to form.

What about zirconium veneers?? Why is this not covered in the video?? Am i missing something??
@TeethTalk26 күн бұрын
In the video, I focused on the different *types* of veneers, like prep vs. no-prep, and what’s involved in those processes. I didn’t dive into the *materials used* for veneers, like zirconium or porcelain. That’s definitely a topic I can cover in a future video, though!

So if I go with the no prep as my dentist advises can I reverse them if I’m not happy with it?

I had an upper anterior prosthesis [consisting of 4 crowns made of porcelain fused to metal] put on back in November 2023. About four and half months in, it's chipped off in three different places and has fallen out four times already. Should this be happening? The dentist says it's nothing to worry about and puts it down to me grinding my teeth. Also, if I may, what would you recommend materialwise since porcelain fused to metal has proven to be demonstrably of poor quality? And I have a limited budget, I hasten to add. Your advice would be hugely appreciated. Thank you.

Why do you think the vaneer is more expensive? It seems like 75% less material and 75% less work to install.
