Hi Martin, Wonderful work, you did look a bit fed up on that one..! Love watching your channel, i find it very calming to watch, and learn at the same time. I have a classic car collection of approx twenty vehicles, i am tempted to buy some tools and have a go at a few car park dings....

Hi W Jones Thank you and yes that MG was horrible to repair!! Such a chewy- plastic feel to the metal but I think I got it! I’m very happy you enjoy the channel! And learn also. Regards trying this, I would definitely try a small course first. You may damage your car and it end up costing you a lot more in re working or ruining a classic and wishing you hadn’t tried it.

Awesome sauce, it takes a lot of patience. I have used glue pulling on aluminum panels works great. Pulled it out enough to do body work and paint.
@dentremover012 жыл бұрын
Hi James thanks for your comment… yes Glue pulling or GPR as it’s more commonly known now is ideal for Ali, because the welding pin pullers are difficult to use (my experience 15 yrs ago) and glue is a lot faster and better for the repair…. You never know you may repair it to an acceptable standard with practice and not have to re paint Have a great Christmas

Nice work. Curious how the paint will last long term in this area, if adhesion has been compromised and this becomes first place for future rust to occur?
@dentremover01 Жыл бұрын
Hi Doug thanks for your comment. If the paint isn’t compromised then there’s no chance of it going rusty in the future. The paint is fully adhered to the damaged panel and won’t change. If the paint comes away or is compromised then a repaint is the best option to re seal the area with fresh paint. Does this answer your question? Thanks Martin
@dougpeirce726 Жыл бұрын
@@dentremover01 I don't know that I agree. The paint has been stretched, stressed because of the dent forming and then metal manipulation to get back to it's initial shape. There has to be some microstructure break down in the paint or loosening of the bound to the substrate. It would be interesting how a salt spray test would perform.
@dentremover01 Жыл бұрын
Hi Doug. I’m 25 years I have never heard of any PDR repair rust after a PDR repair If the paint does stretch then it would crack or micro crack and then maybe your correct- but all the repairs I’ve carried out the paint has been in 100% condition and therefor not compromised. Great indepth comment thank you it’s appreciated

How can I repair a dent which is in the bit that runs under the doors?

If it’s the Sill then it may not be repairable with PDR I’d always recommend speaking with a PDR tech first

@@dentremover01 I think its called a rocker panel. Like where a side skirt would be but this car is too basic for that stuff. But I can see that its all one panel which extends up past the fuel flap and onto the roof. So replacing that panel probably wouldn't be worth it. I think it's metal so a panel beater could probably repair it.
