What spray are you using to clean/prep the surface for the glue pull? Do you use isopropyl for that, and get it really dry? Or something else? Do you ever flash the area with heat gun or mini-torch to get it drier and a bit warm?

Yes 91% alcohol

Thanks for the great content..coul you finish this job by staying with the glue pull and tap down or do you need to work it out from the inside? Thanks again, awesome work.
@denttime3 жыл бұрын
Thanks we worked the dent from the inside out.

Are there any smallish "crease" tabs that you could try to pull that 'secondary' ding out, as it seems more linear than circular?
@denttime Жыл бұрын
Yes there are lots of different ones.

How ya doing guys? I bought a kit off Amazon , and it has the line board, the slide puller, ect…. Someone threw a rock at my car, while it was parked in my driveway? I found the rock next to my car, in the morning. Anyways, I find that maybe the glue that comes in these kits, isn’t strong enough, or something? I tried heating my dent up, just like your showing, and used a slide hammer, and the other type, where you squeeze the handle, and can’t pull the dent for the life of me? I’m looking into a professional shop now. I even pulled the door panel off, on the inside? Just don’t have the proper tools, I suppose? The glue tabs, certainly aren’t working.

I have a question. If a dent has been left for years. Does it still want to return to its original shape?
@denttime3 жыл бұрын
It sure does. Metal never really loses memory. Now plastic bumpers do.

I have a question..why do you place the tap down tool on the metal immediately before the tap dowm knock..does it make a difference if the tool is held solid on the metal before the knock rather than 'bounced' Ive been doing pdr for a few months working on my own vehicles and have wondered this quite often..
@denttime Жыл бұрын
Always have the tip of the knockdown touch the panel. Go slow and be accurate. That naturally will build your speed. I do it so fast it looks like I’m tapping before it touches the surface of the panel.

You can only learn by going out with someone a bit of training with someone
@denttime2 жыл бұрын
That is completely untrue. All you’ll get is shadow training and not real pushing experience. Trust me.. been training for two decades and following someone is NOT the best training… only the most convenient for the instructor while they make money and you watch them do so. 😉
