It's healthy to vent about your frustration, but all some people do is vent all the time. It doesn't help them, it also doesn't help others. Stop paying attention to what these people have to say.

Dan Sarbassov don’t give up and take care of yourself man. I wish you the best. But just because someone’s had it for years doesn’t make them negative or bad energy, they’re just more lost than others. I feel so bad for those people. Some of them have tried all they can and might not have found the proper recovery methods, or had the right people to talk to, or maybe have no one at all. This thing is different for everyone and there’re levels to it that can easily terrify someone for so long and it’s not their fault.
@DanSarbz5 жыл бұрын
Danny Passenger thanks brother I’ve actually improved quite a bit and had some symptoms go away completely. What’s still left is the emotional numbness, tension headaches and racing thoughts so I hope those go soon. And by negative people I meant people on forums who literally say “DP is permanent and you will never get better I’ve had it so and so years.” There are plenty of positive long term sufferers as well.
@amethystclouds87505 жыл бұрын
Dan Sarbassov I feel the exact same way. I immediately panic when I see someone who mentions they’ve had DP for ‘years’. I have not been professionally diagnosed with DP but I’m 99% I have it because I have almost all the symptoms and it was caused by a bad weed trip that induced DP and a panic attack. I’ve been feeling this way since last Wednesday so not even 1 week yet but I’m terrified how long it is going to last for and I have also been getting freaked out by people commenting on how long they’ve been suffering for and how nothing helps them. They most likely haven’t tried every single method of trying to get better though. You never know what ‘trauma’ they’ve been through as well or how their chemistry is different than ours. How are you feeling now by the way?
@jirousama17415 жыл бұрын
@@amethystclouds8750 how are you? I get these too from weed and give me panic and dp and Dr. Although I had these for 3weeks straight. These people give me hope. I just think logically that this is only a thought. So in 1 and half months I manage it and I can control it. Don't let your intrusive thoughts control you. Always keep moving forward. Even you feel it. Even now I get it sometimes when I think of it. Well I know now it's just a thought.

@RealSwamyG4 жыл бұрын
We don't fight fear, we accept it. We say "Ok, I feel fear, and it's sometimes intense, but I'm gonna keep moving forward". Tell yourself it's ok to feel fear. I'm not sure about the second question. If crying and sadness comes up, process that. Accept it. Don't try to escape DP/DR. This is where many ppl go wrong. It's here. It will leave you sometime on its own. The more you try to escape it, the tighter it's grips become.

Hey Swamy, after watching some of your videos I made a huge leap in progress, resulting in 2 months of near complete relief! I do have a question because I am now having a setback. I know that this is normal but what's confusing me is thoughts that did not bother me before, or thoughts I had already worked through have been causing distress again. I was wondering if this is normal to have old fears resurface during a setback? Thank you!
@RealSwamyG5 жыл бұрын
Congrats on your 2-month break. This is exactly how a setback will feel. You'll almost feel like you never recovered in the first place. Setbacks will try to fool you. Don't fall for it. This is why I tell people to write down something positive when they feel better. Like a note to yourself telling that there will be setbacks and that's ok. Don't worry, weather this setback using the same principles that worked for you the first time. You'll get a break soon. This pattern will repeat for a while until your body and mind decide that you are not treating DP as a threat.

@@voltzwalker72 well enough! Mostly fully recovered except I still have the nagging anxiety of having early onset Alzheimer’s every so often but I can usually break from it within a day. Soon those fears will melt away as well. I now know that this is 100% an anxiety condition and while I have overcome the main symptoms of DPDR, the anxiety itself is slowly working it’s way out. I would say I feel absolutely no symptoms 90% of the time, but eventually all symptoms will go away.
