I had to solder two wires of a connector of my car under-dash fusebox to install a kill switch, since it was so hard to access to it I messed up my solders and it may break in the near future. The issue is the original wire which is really short now (about 1 inch from the connector) so I was worrying a bit... Now I know how to depin in order to change the wire, thank you very much!

Hello, would it be possible to wire two different wires to the same PIN number? On the back of my towing mirror, it has an amber light that does not blink with my turn signal. It’s just a running light but I want to modify the wiring in the mirror to make it blink. But I need to pin that wire to the vehicles oem harness. Except there’s already a wire in the pin hole that is responsible for the mirrors actual turn signal on the mirror. Could I tap into that pin so a signal is sent to the turn signal and the modified running light? So basically can I use one pin for two different wires?

just tap into the wire next to the plug with a soldered connection. you can sometimes get 2 thin wires into one pin but it's very hard.

@@MADMODS okay, I thinking those things would be possible. I was just worried that the extra wire would mess something up?

@@eddier9921 it will be the same as trying to get 2 wires on one pin in the plug splicing into the wire and soldering it will be a safer option and work the same.

My GM factory wiring harness has this exact thing. 2 wires going into 1 pin connector. So it IS possible and IS used by OEMs in that situation. Cheers!

Try pin and socket connectors. I searched that to learn to depin them and it kept bringjng up the conductive pins that you crimp onto the terminated wire.

Instead of doing pin by pin can I just remove the block all together and solder the wires together with heat shrink ? I have water damage in the footwell

Yeah, you can remove all the wires at once for soldering them directly together. You just need a tool called WIRE CUTTERS. 😂

Ferrules are the metal piece that connect the wire to the plug. They are specific to which type of plug is used.. At work (semiconductor) we don't re-use ferrules like they are doing in the video. I think it's probably okay to re-use once for a car repair - I'm about to as soon as I get myself a tool!

Step one, throw that crappy depinning kit in the trash. You will do more damage and be more frustrated than if you just bought a quality set up front.
