Good stuff, glad it worked. I use a tethered Helite airbag vest (living in Tassie :) ) which has the advantage that in that situation you would have been able to replace the gas canister yourself and then continue riding with full air bag protection.

Hello mate, I have the same setup Yaguara and Street Air, a car collided into me on a roundabout 31/07/21 QLD Australia, sent me flying with most of the impact on my right shoulder sliding about 4-5m Air bag deployed. Did not feel a thing, felt like a safety cocoon around me. Anyone reading this and is considering purchasing the Alpinestars I 100% recommend!!

They were Alpinestars Yagura Drystar pants. Held up to the slide really well and still have them! Only spot where the fabric wore through is where the plastic and metal buckles on the Tech 7 boots were underneath!

I have a dual sport and like to hop speed bumps and round abouts, also do some adventure off roading, worried about false deployment. Do you have any thought on that please? Glad you are ok btw :)

Yes you can Oliver but there needs to be enough room for the Techair vest to expand. You might be able to see in the video Nick was wearing a Zacspeed backpack when the vest deployed.

No that is the first generation Alpinestars Tech-Air Street airbag vest Nick is wearing. Great bit of kit and really increases rider safety in a big way. Nick has updated to the Tech-Air 5 vest now and it has improved and weight and breathability of the vest.

How is the neck protection?

Alpinestars don't really claim their airbag vests offer any neck protection and I wouldn't say you should expect it to work like a neck brace. That said when you feel how much the airbag inflates up around your shoulders in a deployment your helmet will be supported somewhat which imagine could prevent your neck from being forced to extreme angles. Certainly the freedom of movement is much better than wearing a neck brace.

​@@MaschineAdventureI just actually have found out what is the point of Alpinestars's view for neck protection. One guy asked them for that and receive a nice letter explanation. In short words: they claim spine's serious injuries appear when there is a direct impact coming from above to your helmet which cracks cervical vertebraes. So neck's stiffen makes in that case more bad than good. And injuries coming from lack of neck's stiffen is far less threat for spine than one can think but of course it happends.
