Hi not sure if you'll get this message, but if the soldering of the ring comes unattached on the bell of the trumpet, due to some dent damage to the bell, can that ring seal be resoldered or is it too risky and possibly cause more damage and/or sound issues? Thank you.

I read that repaired cymbals don't have the same sound anymore but I wonder if a repaired trumpet bell sounds different, less vibrant, less brilliant because of changes in the metal structure.

Well, it could be. When you hammer it the brass gets harder and that would change the resonance of the bell. Small dents doesn't effect it in my opinion. You can always heat the bell up to soften the brass a bit so it resonates more.

I was wondering if this worked on Melophones. I just dropped my school's one and I want to fix it so they dont have to pay anything
@dequelerywindinstruments83756 жыл бұрын
IsabelleCajan Yes it does work on a mellophone also.

Thank you very much for this wonderful video! :) When you are burnishing this trumpet bell, do you have it on a cone mandrel? The video never shows this.

Kenneth G . No it is not. its just in holder. I use the tension of the brass to get it back into shape with the burnisher and the roaller.
