I’m on strong prescription opiates. I’m from the U.K. 10+ years. I’m so sick of it. I’ve gone cold turkey when my prescription ran out at least a dozen times. Once made it to day 8-almost made it but got a prescription and relapsed because I felt like utter shit. Worse mistake of my life. My last bad one was last Christmas, ran out of prescription. Weather was absolutely freezing minus 10 degrees. Frost everywhere. My house was freezing, I had heating on but one side of my room was roasting hot but the window side was literally ice cold even though I have triple sealed windows. I had hot/cold sweat, nausea, the shits pissing out my ass every 10 minutes. Pounding headache, heart racing and pounding at times thought I was going to have a heart attack, heightened anxiety and panic, restlessness, absolute torture restless legs and back ache was unbearable, couldn’t sit couldn’t lay down-certainly couldn’t sleep, when I did I have racing thoughts, nightmares, fever dreams about dumb horrible stuff. Restlessness and the time absolutely DRAGGING so slowly is the worst. I had the fan on so one minute I was sweating the next I was freezing. You guys know exactly how it is. Also, my dog of 13 years, my best friend, I had to have her put to sleep in November and I was broken by that already. After a couple of days I couldn’t take it anymore and I managed to get through to an emergency on-call doctor who was an angel and prescribed me another prescription but I had to trek out in the freezing cold to pick it up. I really want to be free of this shit but I don’t know how to get through it. Also I literally have no social support, I’m on my own completely.

@@mr_mbox I have been but I hoped in writing that that it may help someone. Like I said I’ve been on for more than 10 years and I beginning to think that I’ve forgotten what it’s like to “feel”. I also boost my prescription with other opiates and often take more than I should. So yeh, I’m fucked 🤣 I wasn’t exaggerating either. I’ll never know if I’m just a pussy or just have a naturally low tolerance. To be fair, I don’t expect this shit to be comfortable and I’m ok with sucking up a bit of discomfort and suffering (I quit smoking cold turkey, played BioShock for three days and felt like I was up the wall lol but I chowed down like a champ) but this is absolutely utterly unbearable. The only consolation I often think is that maybe if I can quit then my regular days will feel naturally as good as when I’m good and comfortable high on opiates, if that makes sense. Thanks for your reply to my comment man, that means a lot to me. Hope you’re doing okay too man.

CAN I SAY IT HOW IT IS, WERE ADULTS AND WE ALL KNOW COMING OFF DRUGS IS HARD. JUST THINK YOUVE HAD AN OPERATION AND IT TAKES TIME TO RECOVERY. TRUST ME IT DOES GET BETTER, IT IS HARD IN THE BEGINNING JUST LIKE OUR SCHOOL EXAMS WERE, LEARNING TO DRIVE. BUT REMEMBER THESE DRUGS ARE KILLING US IN JUNE 2024... IM MUSLIM AND A WOMAN AND I CAME OFF HEROIN. NOW IF I CAN ANYONE CAN.... HAVE FAITH IN GOD. x

God bless you. I’m on strong opiates, tried to quit a couple of times, cold turkey, ran out of prescription, made it to day 8 once-almost made it but I relapsed I was so sick. I just can’t do this but I’m desperate and I want to.

Hey Kurt how’d that hole feel after you helped your brother? It’s purpose. That’s what I found. I got sober when you did. I’ll be a miserable SOB. But when I help and give. The hole is gone. Purpose. That’s what you’re missing. You helped me. You made it 2 years and a slip. The strength to pull out after 1 day. You’re doing it. Dude that’s super hero stuff. Seriously. Think how we were 5 years ago. You were getting shot at. I picked up and immediately put down. That’s more inspiring than a dude with 20 years.

I think thats what im missing but I know I have purpose .... 2 n half weeks off of methadone .. Im taking kratom currently and smoking cannabis its the only thing that helps the withdrawls . I plan to taper the kratom soon and the weed shouldnt be a major issue

I just got the B Lack Cold Turkey been watching you and your brother since beginning I had the best connection ran a business and killing it but my connection got busted but I wasn’t going to wait in parking lots for 4 hours for some fucking fentynyl laced shit fuck that I bit the bullet set up a room clean clothes didn’t eat for week didn’t sleep for a whole month blood pressure through the roof went to doctors scared blood pressure under control I swim everyday I drink still but have no temptation to go back to opiates that shit is bad you can go 5 years quietly if you can afford it but it catches up to you now i’m a man
