I usually have dry, sensitive and acne prone skin and I am a doctor myself and trust me that combination is very tricky I tried prescription strength retinol but it used to try out my skin so much I hated the peeling and the stinging sensation I used to get . I switched to a313 as per a friends recommendation and I swear this product is pure magic for my skin . I got all kind of lasers and chemical peels and god knows what not and this is the product that just changed my skincare game . My skin is softer , no texture , no peeling no burning. My acne has calmed down so much that I barely get one break out after a month . Try it and you’re gonna see the change within a month . But again it doesn’t work for everyone . It might not be very good Hugh strength anti-ageing product . But with acne , texture and pigmentation this stuff is really magical

For all my australian viewers adapalene here is considered to be a perscription drug. So you cannot buy the la Roche posay or differen one here. The reason for this is becuase of our crazy intense sun they want it to be perscription so proper education on sun safety and this product can be given. If you do want to access it without perscription you can buy it online although more expensive! Just some facts for my auzzys

Loved this review! There are many dupes of A313 online. I've purchased it directly in France so the list of ingredients is different than what you would get in an online "French pharmacy" or Amazon. It was not over the counter, per se, ( I had to sign documents that stated that this was a medical-grade product.) The first evening I applied this to my skin I experienced an intense tingling sensation that quickly turned into a horrible burning sensation. It was so uncomfortable I had to wash my face to remove it-and even after washing my face, I could still feel it burning. I was shocked because I don't consider myself to have ultra-sensitive skin ( As a point of reference, I've used Retin-A 0.05 and hadn't experienced the degree of irritation I experienced with A313-not even when I first started Retin-A.) After some research, I tried A313 again but applying moisturizer first, and then A313 on top. It still felt quite uncomfortable, but not as much as the first evening. I had to apply it every other day to build tolerance, and the burning I felt (even with the moisturizer) faded entirely after days. In terms of results, peeling does occur, some dark spots I had faded, and it does make my skin look super supple and hydrated.

I use Skin Scrips retinaldehyde 1% at night.#1) Is the absorbtion and conversion complete by the AM so my AM antioxidents won't cancel it out? #2) Should I avoid antioxidents on retinaldehyde nights? (I use vitamin C only in the AM.) Thank you for this video. So many KZbin influencers are getting on the A313 wagon, even after they have used Tret for years. I can't understand why they would ever take this step backwards.

I am hoping at some point you’ll talk about the benefits/drawbacks of switching formulas. I’ve been using Medik8 for several months now and added A313 a couple times a week and my skin seems much more glowy. Is there a reason to switch it up on our skin or does this seem like wishful thinking?

I hear some very great things about A313. I wonder if this study tested delivery systems as well as just the retinaldehyde cause I think that’s where the A313 has an edge.

Maybe a silly question but...What are your thoughts on concerns regarding the "Hayflick limit" and tretinoin use? I have been considering starting to use tretinoin but came across a number of people mentioning this and that in the long-run it might not be a good idea. I figured in stead of getting scared away by comments and random articles on the internet I would ask you, seen as you are the expert. Hope my question isn't too vague!

There's some evidence suggesting that it does. Tretinoin used to be for acne too and they ended up finding it was antiaging.

Thank you Dr. Dray for your honest review. I have been on Tret for 5 years and I recently tried this...Theoretically this a313 should be significantly inferior to Tret. However, I started peeling the next day. I thought my skin is now fully retinized why would it do that?! However, I am keeping my eyes open. I alternate nights between this and my 0.5 Tretinoin. :)
@_danila51854 жыл бұрын
April Santiano hi! Did tretinoin helps with fine lines under the eyes? Have you seen any improvement in that area? 😊
@lemonz17694 жыл бұрын
I'd say peeling doesn't mean it's having the same effect as retinoic acid. Many things can make you peel. There are several esters in the A313 and at least one of them has a molecular structure that is too large to penetrate the skin. It may be having an exfoliating effect on the outer most layer of the skin.

Unless you’re in Europe, there’s no point in ordering it from Amazon. I’m sure you all have a cheaper equivalent. I’ve purchased it at the pharmacy. It’s only €8.00 and it works great. Not all skin is the same. However, I think why so many people are fascinated by it is because it’s a retinol that’s you can get OTC and it’s “French.” If you’re ever in Europe, I say get it and try it out. Definitely works for all of us overseas.
