This was the first song I ever heard by Dermot Kennedy. It was in early spring when quarantine first hit. I woke up to the trees outside my window enshrined in mist and soft rain falling. I made tea, lit a candle, and turned on a Spotify playlist I'd never heard before, figured I'd try something new, kinda comfy and acoustic. This song came on. By the second stanza, I was hooked. Haven't looked back since. Dermot, your music has cracked me open again and again when I've needed to be in touch with myself most. Singing your lyrics makes me smile and cry and I am so grateful you are in this world!!
