I had the good fortune to see Derren in NYC in 2017. It was an audience of about 250 people. Incredible…simply incredible! After the show, Derren was kind enough to speak with fans…including me. We spent 20 minutes in deep conversation. He is truly a legend.

YES! Finally!! Derren is as good as it gets in mentalism, mindnoodling and hypnosis. As ironic as it may sound: trust what he has to say! ❤

The guy who most likely scripted and directed the biggest social experiment the world has ever know, in early 2020? And if he wasn't involved in it, why was he not talking out against the blatant control and hypnosis tricks that were being beamed out from our screens...?

Thanks for this conversation - I have listened to many of your podcasts previously, Tim, without commenting. Recently I heard the phrase to have gratitude for something or someone and to not let them know is like getting someone a present and wrapping it up but never giving it to them! I love Derren's perspective on life. I remember seeing him at my student union at Bradford University in the mid 90's. I think I still have the business card you were handing out at the time. I'm going to bookmark this to listen to again so I can pay my full attention to you both. Thanks heaps 😊

Darren has always impressed me and I love the fact that he actively shows how charlatans work, not only that, he actively beats them at their own game. He is more convincing than the psychics he investigates and then is more convincing than them without asking open ended questions or letting the sitter do the work. I watched him do a TV documentary with the ‘psychic’ Jo Power, that psychic tuned on a woman client who actually believed in psychics and I then watched Mr Powerr throw nasty, arrogant words around and storm out completely baffling the woman who genuinely wanted her recently deceased sister. Darren stayed to make sure that she was ok and asked if there was anything he could do to help her. He actively tells people that he’s NOT psychic, that he thinks that people that claim to be are just making huge sums of money from the grief and bereavement of those that would give everything they owned to have 5 more minutes with their loved ones. I am an atheist but gods bless this man.

I like Derren very much! Best mentalist out there, but as a person really intelligent and there is this vulnerability about him which makes him even more likeable. Tim, I really like that you can, as clearly a skeptical person, also to be open minded and delve into things like NDE:s. It's not easy to be skeptical and open minded at the same time, so huge respect!

Good evening Tim and Derren Thank you for enabling the later part of this very evening to be pleasantly engaging. Following yet another nightmarish twelve hour shift in my very recent eight week old job. Story super short! Why? in nursing not many actually care anymore. (Most polite description)! Disturbs me greatly. Anyways... Truly grateful for your continued sanity sensemaking brain gym. 💜

I've wondered since watching his shows whether there's some intentional affect on the audience outside of a natural incitement of self-assessment of values and such because after watching one, I'd seen one of the main guys from the show the next day at my workplace; same accent even--and I was sure it wasn't really him but for a second I feared I'd signed something without remembering hahahaha, I bet a lot of people worry about that after experiencing the mind bending element of his work even from what's assumed a safe distance!

You guys saw “Traffic”, right? Or “Avenue Q”? Or “The Bonfire Of Vanities”? The rare cultural events daring to explain that racism isn’t what we’re told? Because the “amazing change” you elicit is not “magic” when you correct the understanding of the starting baseline.

It amazes me that in 2024, the "Four Horsemen" of atheism are still considered "convincing" reading on the topic of metaphysics and ontology. I'm sure the relatively anti-intellectual brand of "enlightenment" Christianity (Faith and Reason are inherently divided) aids that idea.

Hey Tim, not sure where to place guest/subject requests, but I’d love your 80-20 analysis of learning downhill skiing. I’ve been skiing for over a decade but am mediocre at best. Looking to up my game technically this year and would a love Tim Ferriss episode on it!

Totally unethical. To convince someone that everyone they know and love is dead, is an evil act in and of itself regardless of the theorized consequences.
