This is actually a fascinating story for a specific reason: here's a dude who played "with a chip on his shoulder," notably out of frustration, and now he's a laid-back dude wearing a "be a good person" hat. He even went from starting on the Spurs to being sort of a sixth (if not seventh) man on the Celtics. Not a lot of people can navigate that kind of strange and turbulent trajectory so well.

As a Celtics fan, his numbers so far this season are amazing. The jump from playing on one the best offenses has done wonders. Hes not scoring at a career rate but the FG% and 3% have shot up insanely thus far this season. His Per36 is insanely good, true shooting is amazing. Though his role is less, though hes getting less looks and isnt even a top 3 option, the amount hes contributing to winning is fantastic. He plays good defense, he can play make, he can score, hit threes and all that at a usage rate thats 0.6% above his rookie season (and lowest of his career if you count meaningful minutes and basketball) is phenomenal. Dude might not ever make 20+ million a season or be a superstar, but hes going to have a long career and is gonig to be wanted till he chooses not to play anymore (hopefully baring a major injury). Wasnt sure about him when the Celtics picked him up, was kinda confused why they kept him and got Malcolm.....but so glad to be proven wrong and couldnt be happier for the guy. Hes obviously a humble, kind hearted good person and its easy to root for guys like him.

Can definitely be inconsistent offensively sometimes (he’s been lights out this year) but he’s a hell of a defensive player, ridiculously good point of attack defender.
@SoloPerICommenti2 жыл бұрын
He's the kind of guy who, while being a great defender (maybe the best rim protecting guard in the league), will always do the right thing on offense. He might miss shots, but he won't stop the ball and he won't take bad shots. I love this kind of players, that self awareness and understanding of the game.
@samn908342 жыл бұрын
@@SoloPerICommenti excellent point as well, sometimes people put too much worth into shooting percentages, White helped the Cs offense last year even though he was shooting terribly. Other teams knew they had to respect his shot and couldn’t sag off too much, and like you said he makes the right play every time.
