The beginning of a 38 year operation, all they had to do was to keep the peace but they turned on the people they were meant to protect.

Those gentlemen in uniform were a bit lax about where they were pointing their weapons.

Because they’re holding an shield on their left hand which’s why they’re pointing their rifles in the air or somewhere else

@@ismJoboiIn the air is where they’re supposed to point them. Many of them are pointing them ‘elsewhere', often at anyone else who happens to be present. That’s pretty much a no-no when carrying weapons. As far as I’m aware the rules are that weapons should always be carried pointing up and never at anything that isn’t a target. Pointing down is incorrect because of the possibility of a ricochet, and the safety catch should never be trusted. I can assure you that these rules were not always followed. I grew up in Derry and on more than one occasion had a squaddie take a bead on me as I just walked down a quite busy street in the middle of the day. Not pleasant.
