The practice of shoulder stand was extremely tough for me despite all the props. Will attempt it again after a few other practice videos.
@DesaYogiIyengarYoga2 жыл бұрын
Arthi, take your time, watch more and have the correct height. Make sure to get onto the tops of the shoulders for the best support. You learn that in setubanda, chatushpadasana and viparita dandasana in the chair. Enjoy the process. 🙏🏻

Great twisty class. Had trouble with the vrisana (hero) pose sequence. Knees and ankles just don't go there. Also had to do the inversion against the wall- again my body just couldn't get it together for the pose. Thanks!
@DesaYogiIyengarYoga2 жыл бұрын
Hi Liz, that's why we stress practice. We all have different body conditions and have had various injuries along the way. When you say it's difficult, for instance, in virasana, take more height. Feel free to build up so you can get the shape of the pose. With practice you will open, elongate, and feel more comfortable. If there is an ankle injury there are many ways to ease the pressure. We learn patience in our practice which we then can take out into our daily life. Of course all this takes time. Let me know if I can guide you further with this. Regarding the inversion, have fun with it. Take a half pose with legs ½ way up the wall, or use a chair. Try different ways and when done enough your body and your mind will finally click into place. Having our own home practice helps to have time to be there and allow the learning to download.

@@DesaYogiIyengarYoga Thank you for your response. I used to do a lot of vinyasa yoga but due to injuries, this practice is no longer available to me, which is why I have turned to Iyengar. Allowing so many variations of a pose that will still honor the integrity of the pose is where I am now. Many thanks!

Hi Anjali, It’s good to follow a sequence according to your body. I have a 16 day foundation Course that can guide you to learn more. Perhaps practice with this. By the time you finish you will have a better idea what is best. All my best, 🙏🏻

Does eye pillow help to relax eyes ?
@DesaYogiIyengarYoga9 ай бұрын
Eye pillow can help cut out distractions and light. Can also apply a bit of pressure to guide you to release the eyes downward thus releasing the eye in the socket and all the muscles around the eyes. Today with all the screen time, may have loads of benefits for your savasana by taking you deeper inward.
