Hello Darren, when you reviewed these like four years ago, I purchased them at an insanely good price here in Germany. Still have them, still play them, they're still my best set of darts. Replaced the stems with (my favourite) Nitro Tech medium and they still shine. Great review, a classic dart similar to Taylor's earlier ones and Gary Anderson's darts but at a quarter of the price. A no-brainer ! A must have for players who like that style of dart

I’ve started using the 20g with the paint stripped. Took some time with multiple soaks in acetone but was worth it. Happy with both the look and how they are performing.

Great review as per usuall was going to buy a set of Gary Anderson's I think phase 2s (the ones with the 2 blue lines at the front) for the collection but after seeing this video may just have to go with these. Keep up the great work pal.

I really enjoy your reviews. Very thorough and entertaining. One request, which of course do not apply to this review, when you review darts that are endorsed by pros, will you add what the natural grip for said pro is. Whether front, middle or back. It may give a better understanding of why the grip on the darts are designed the way they are. Of coarse that is just a personal request. Your channel is by far the best dart review channel. A fairly nice looking dart, just recently bought my 11 year old boy his own set of dart. The designa 23g. crusader v2 ringed, a very cheap priced. That he choosed on his own and we're still waiting to arrive these weekend.

I bought the 22g version a month ago, I changed the short stem to a medium stem and it suits my throw. All in all a great dart and very good value for money and it proves you don’t need to pay silly prices to get a quality dart, in fact Designa own Winmau.

Noirs are £75 not £100? Loved the review. Wanted to get a set ever since saw that teaser awhile back. Thing is at that time i was getting other darts. So, by the time got around to getting those darts they were sold out of both 24 & 22 gram darts. Even though use 23g darts normally wouldn't mind having different weights to mix it up. Just don't want to go to heavy/light. Tempted to get the 26g just don't want to go too far from "normal".

I bought the 30g version of these and really like them. I took the paint off them and must admit that they look a lot better. I use them with the target pinch grip stems (inbetween) with Harrows Retina flights and I think the set up looks really good. Looks a lot more expensive than a twenty quid dart. I prefer these darts to my £45 RD carnage 4's which admittedly are a bit lighter at 26g.

I have not tried taking the paint off but I am happy enough with how they look with the paint on, you take the paint off and you will need to change the name to Light Thunder lol! :P

I got myself a set of designa gauntlets. Am so impressed with them. Thus is coming from a target man aswell. Expensive darts ain't all their cracked up to be bud. As you probably know better than most.

Well its good they still have darts at decent value, the big brands are putting out too many sets at crazy prices of late, its getting even crazier with the latest Unicorn models, I was told by another brand that there is not a lot they can do as the costs are increasing in all ways, I just hope it does not start to affect value brands like these :)

Darts Review Channel ugh, tell me about it. Hockey has a huge problem with this exact thing. High end sticks cost around $250-300 even though they're BARELY better than the next lower price point. But the thing is, all of us who think we're good don't want to give up that tiny advantage. The thing I love about darts is how the world number one plays with some old $20 McKicks darts and has for his whole career, so we all know damn well that decent darts are as good as any. It just floors me that the name brands can still get away with their insane over-pricing. I guess on some level the human mind just can't get past the reality that it's not the equipment - it's us lol

I guess it happens in everything really, just look how much you can pay for high end music systems, in some cases most people cant tell the difference but others will swear there is. Darts is still relatively cheap compared to some sports but as long as we still have plenty of good value sets to choose from it will be ok. I have the new Anderson Noir but other than the black coating they are the same as previous models but nearly 4 times more than the Dark Thunder?

Hi mate this darts set is very similar to steve lennon set.... and i think that works well with all grip style. I’m a middle gripper and i search a straight barrel around 50 mm with a good grip and with this price i think they are a good choise.💥 i hope to improve my skill with these lol💪🏻

Great darts, grip is perfect for me (not harsh like a saw tooth) as is the weight of 22g! My only criticism is the shafts included-the cheapest plastic and hardly any grip to hold the flights. After a few throws, and removing the rings for future use, they were consigned to the recycling bin!! Substituted with some green medium Nitro shafts-perfect now!!

I've been checking all reviews and Darren.. your review is TOP .. because, you make the product, the hero and present technical aspects about the dimensions. I'm watching all videos on darts before I purchase my very 1st tungsten set. Right now, I'm using brass ones.. perhaps 18 grams and throwing as much in my free time..also experimental with 3 or 4 finger grip till I attain natural throw. I'm zeroing on Dark Thunder or Mustang (scallops) and both are from designa brand. lol, I tried to enter darts giveaway competition but missed by whiskers..!! I think, in India these are costly so have to request a relative to bring to India I will go for heavy weight.. donno why, but 24 or 26.. your slomo vdo are treat to watch.. thanks for this review which was already there and have a good weekend

Thanks! tungsten darts may feel a bit strange after throwing brass but you will get used to it quickly, I think 24g is a good weight to start with and straight barrel darts are often the best to start with as a beginner too, good luck! :)

This is what I don't understand about darts 90% tungsten for £20 yet for the same tungsten % you can pay....well the skies the limit Just shows you if they had Phil Taylor on the box they be £90 plus .... On your review I bought the Navigator 3 90% Tungsten £10 and they are fantastic value and darts .... shows ..you don't have to pay big bucks for quality.

The Taylor Phase 2 purist natural of Unicorn are also fairly cheap nowadays, more than acceptable for such a branded set. All these new grips and coatings required significant investments in new equipment. Only one way to earn that investment back...

No the Ultra are more grippy and the rings are spaced out more on the Ultra.

Hi mate, I think a few people on the forum have been using them longer than me and it held up fairly well in the grooves but the nose takes more wear easily. For the money though they are still worth it :)

its not really silly but the general opinion is that for beginners its often best to start with a basic straight barrel ring grip dart as its the most common style used that often works for all types of grips. Nothing is set in stone with darts though :)

@@memento316 Magnums are not as grippy, its a flat cut grip but will depend how the edges work with your own finger grip, it will wear too quick though so probably not a good dart to buy if you need grip

Most straight barrels should work well but if you want something thats more centre weighted the Tribal darts mentioned are good :)

Yes. Also the bullnose loses it paint at the front after about 2 weeks, which doesn't look good.

That board fell apart really quick so am just wondering if anyone out there thinks it's the black points on these darts or just a poor unicorn board. I'm getting a new gladiator board just for home use so should I put silver points in to help the board last longer?

will be just a poor board, if it was the points then other people would have complained too. Board should be fine with any smooth points its just the points with grip that can ruin the board quick :)

@@DartsReviewChannel Thank for reply, I can stick with black points so! I still can't believe unicorn haven't addressed issues with there dartboards, its been going on for years and even watching on sky the tv boards don't always look good.

Don’t forget to rotate your board, it’ll last a long time especially the gladiator board
