Intresting to see how the viewer numbers drop with every part of the tutorial. I enjoy it. good stuff! learned alot. Thanks!

I think it just depends on if people find the skills they want and then go away to try things at that level. Or if the video has the skills they want, for example part 5 has more views than part 3 or 4. I think that's because more people need help on how to bring the parts together for 3D printing (I know that's where I found thr most difficulty when I was starting out.

Normally when I discover a new channel there are years of videos to dive through. Since you just started I find myself waiting not very patiently for new content. I'm very happy that you seem like you've hit the ground running and are keeping up a steady stream of content.

Thanks. I'm going to do this series continuing 1 every 2 days (there will be 5 total) then I am to do one release on a Monday and one on a Friday.

Had lots of fun chipping the tiles! Another thing i did was in edit mode, press 3 select faces, then press 1 for all vertices, press G and Z and recess the single tile a bit. Some tiles to be uneven is a great look and pretty realistic (tripping while walking is so common on that planet hahahaha)

Crap, I keep to the end of the tutorial and of course there's a much better way to do it 😂 I should have been patient. These tutorials are great

@@d-emprahexpects Haha. Thats the way learning works and things like that do help the whole process. You'll remember it better now. Thanks for following through and even more so for commenting to let me know how you got on 😁👌

Really enjoying this series! Thank you! I envision using this to create infantry bases for my epic army. One thing I’d like to see that may well be covered in the future is adding holes for the bases on epic 40k infantry models so they slot right in. Keep up the awesome work!
@ArtisansofVaul3 жыл бұрын
The 5th (and final video) will have cutting the bases out from the scene. The same process can be used to create holes for infantry. So you're in luck! 😉

7:51 I haven't these four options above "Add Modifer" so I can't click Apply All. What should I do?
@ArtisansofVaul2 жыл бұрын
Several options (I cover them on a video) but for now go to Edit>Preferences >Add Ons (on the side). Then in the search box type Modifer and you should get an option called modifier tools to click and give you that option.

I suspect you’re going to cover it in a later video but I’d love to see how you would create recesses in a scene to accommodate the base of an epic infantry model for instance. Loving your videos btw! Great work.
@ArtisansofVaul3 жыл бұрын
In the 5th video it will cover cutting the bases out of the scene. You could make holes for infantry bases in exactly the same way, using a cylinder and a difference boolean to take it out of the base.

I really love your videos. I'm having a hard time finding anyone who specifically sculpts with the intention for 3d printing. I was wondering, do you know of any courses I could pay for to learn modeling in blender specifically for 3d printing? I was also wondering, how much would you charge for individual sessions and is that something you would be interested in doing?

Thanks so much. I've emailed you back but just in case anyone else reads this £30 for half an hour £50 for an hour for personal tuition. 😁

is there a problem in blender to actually work to scale..you use meters and convert to mm in your head can blender just be told to work in mm ??
@ArtisansofVaulАй бұрын
So two answers to this (actually kind of three). So I kept it this way as it is a video meant for beginners and I didn't want to have to start by going through lots of settings changes (thats the main reason for this video). For the second question, yes you can change to mm (or inches) if you want. As an added but though I wouldn't. I actually recommend using Blender's native units (Blender Units) if you are going to be 3D printing and I have a video on why here if you're interested: kzbin.info/www/bejne/nobJgal-hcmaiJY

@ArtisansofVaul Жыл бұрын
@wolf eye Oh that's fair, I see what you mean now. If you mean for the bit creating variations that's totally a valid option and anything to speed up those elements. You just have to sometimes be careful as you can select bits that you don't want to affect and if you do the same moment with the edges it looks repetitive. If it helps when you're past this sort of understanding there are more things you can do to speed up the repetitive bits but this is just focusing on those key (basic) skills.

@wolf eye Totally. If it helps as well, these videos don't focus on things like add ons which is one of the major powers of Blender. There are loads out there depending on what you want to do but Hard Ops and boxcutter are particularly fantastic (but you do have to pay for them). If you want to check out the sort of things they can do I have some videos on them here: kzbin.info/aero/PLnqmLZKRm5CajsNlyFbieVyGxzdbBN-jo
