Tip from my Gramma: When doing persnickety eye makeup tasks, like shaping brows or winged liner, do the side of your less dominant hand first. Like, if you're right handed, do the left side first. That way, it will be easier and quicker to match up the other side's makeup. Another tip from my Gramma: Always carry a fine nib fountain ink pen. Not only will you seem fancy and upscale, but it also makes for a really good defensive weapon.

I used to have short eyelashes too, but I found that a mixture of aloe vera gel, castor oil and a couple drops of vitamin E really helped me get longer and thicker lashes.

To get a really good curl on your lashes, clamp down, and roll/rotate your curler up. It makes a massive difference!

Be so careful if you try this!!! It can pull your lashes out if you clamp too tightly. Pulse your curlers instead and move them gradually up along the lashes so you get a full curl 😄

I can totally relate/agree to the with age comes more confidence. In my early 20's I wouldn't be caught dead in public without my full glam face done. Nowadays - years later - I rarely do full glam unless I have the time or "feel" like doing it and most days I just do some powder, bronzer, brows, mascara and I am out the door in less than 10 minutes! It's amazing how much I have changed in a few years with my confidence! :)

I agree when you get older you do take ownership of your beauty. I have not worn makeup (well only mascara and eyeliner only ) before I would wear foundation, bronzer, blush concealer powder highlighter everyday. It's nice just to be me without it all. Hello Desi and everyone! i just wanted to let you know that i really appreciate the comment you made about getting older and accepting who you are. I am 37, and I'm sure everyone else here is a lot younger than me but I'm a huge fan of yours. It's important to let young women know that as you get older you become more confident with your body, and your appearance. I remember feeling like i was not pretty or like i was too heavy but as ive grown older i have learned that everyone of us especially women are insecure about something. It's not just about vanity, it's about personal grooming, being clean and fresh, having the time to sit and sip a lovely morning coffee, spend time with my pets and make sure i have everything organized and can leave early just in case. doing my makeup is just a bit of that time. sleep is cool but I can sleep at night. Its better to get up and be productive but feel calm and relaxed rather then feel rushed and anxious because that's when shit goes wrong and you end up being an hour late and _everybody_ hates that guy
