This message is deeply important, and it is so vital to our Christianity that we truly ingest and live this message, especially in our world today with SO MUCH unkindness and rampant internal fighting in the church, that we must lean on this embracing of suffering and embracing Jesus coming alongside us in this - by so doing in our sorrow and long-suffering that is when we find Christ, when we see him radiating within ourselves. To die to the self, this is when we truly achieve Joy. This is communion with Christ, to truly allow Jesus inside entirely.

What a precious son is John piper. I would love to have a tenth of this mans joy and understanding of the glory of God and his faith in our future hope - when I listen to him he lifts my spirit and my faith

Keith Thompson Hey Keith, Just wanted to tell you .... always love your content brother, and I'm so glad you haven't been doing contrast/opposition videos between famed apologists and preachers. Though, understandably, the intent is mainly to compare core presuppositions (epistemological, theodicial, etc.), the visual impact from the thumbnail implies an antagonism that is overstated. Especially in the combative milieu of Internet aggression, it is fodder to be used as a counterpoint of ridicule, and is therefore often injurious instead of illuminating (unless you're theologically inclined to know the contours and distinctions in depth). God bless brother and these are just offerings to hone your trajectory.

We should just worship the lord in spirit and truth . Use our ears to discern truth with our own heart software inspired by acts 1:8 . Obey john 14:21 as the only guarantee for successful victory.

Hey John, I was wondering how you first saw the glory of Christ? I recently got off a huge backsliding. I was "saved" at 9 and now at 26 I have such a desire to know God, but here is my problem, I don't like reading my Bible as much as I should. I long to see the glory of Christ as you do but so far that hasn't happened. I know I'm saved because my desires and such have totally shifted (used to be into really secular music) Can you help me to have joy when I read the Bible? Ps. I do read my Bible quite a bit(I've read all of new testament in less than two months)

Patrinka, I absolutely love that idea! Thank you. By the way, if anyone is struggling as I am here is a very good quote that I've taken to heart. "Before I leave this subject, I would only add: If the reader understands very little of the word of God, he ought to read it very much; for the Spirit explains the word by the word. And if he enjoys the reading of the word little, that is just the reason why he should read it much; for the frequent reading of the Scriptures creates a delight in them, so that the more we read them, the more we desire to do so." -George Muller

Hello rain Something that has worked for me when I don’t want to read is praying that God would give me the desire to read and understand what he is wanting to show me. God wants us to know more about him. And if we’re wanting to read for that reason then he is faithful to answer that prayer. Ask and it will be given is something that should be taken very seriously in this case. Because it for His glory he is faithful to give that to us

Piper said once that after we pray we should act as if our prayer as been answered

Hey Jessica That is really good advice as well! I've been asking Him for more of a desire for reading the word, but sometimes I ask with doubt in my heart. I will definitely take that advice to heart! God bless.
