Desperation, as thousands queue next to Kabul airport

Thousands of people are still trying to get out of Afghanistan, with large crowds by Kabul airport as UK and US troops check paperwork.
Under the baking sun, Sky's Stuart Ramsay reports a sense of unease in the air, and the vast majority of the people waiting must know that escape for them will not be possible.

This whole process to screen at airport in these circumstances is the reason there are tens of thousands queuing outside. Americans are asking Taliban to do crowd control, and they had no choice to fire in air or hit them sticks to push them back into lines. Taliban's are not stopping any one from leaving, its apparent from the ground they are next to US soldiers. This notion that Taliban's would kill them is wrong, they are already at airport among taliban for days and passing through dozens of their check post every day, if they were killing them how are all of them here? Most of these are opportunists who want to fled poverty. And I blame western powers, rather than spending 2 trillion on military intervention, had they spent 100 to 200 billion on building economy and lives of ordinary people. They would have no reason for all these people to leave their country for economic reasons. I came to a conclusion I would rather believe Taliban's words than these crooked US/UK politicians.
