The "Do vex dream? Or are they just circuitry and programming?" line could also be a reference to Marathon Infinity, which contains interlude chapters called "Electric Sheep". These are references to the novel "Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep", since the player character in Marathon is essentially an android. God I wish Bungie would remake the Marathon series.

Oh god, I just realize we still have a crown of sorrows that is filled to the brim with nightmares from the Leviathan. I dread to think that Nezarec could be able to hijack it from Eris and use it for some nefarious purpose. Hell it could be a part of the festival of the lost with him creating Uber headless one nightmares and sending them out across sol to spread misery and despair.

My best guess is we might see nezerac again, we killed his fused light/dark body but his mind still lives and we do still have some of his body parts in the tower. Also I really wanna fight a full powered nezerac cause he even says the raid version is a fraction of his power. We could see a rouge psion group lead by an acolyte/cult leader try to revive him with dark powers or maybe the crown of sorrow since we also have that somewhere in a later season

Wish there was info on what species he is.. it says tormentor but that can't possibly be nezarecs origin. With rhulk we learned that he came from lubrae. Maybe I'm way off but with how strong his psionic abilities are makes me think he was a psion, only because psions are known to have these powerful psionic abilities as well.

Well theres been a theory going around saying that Tormentors are some kind of augmented psions so maybe not that far off. We know their tied to Nezerec for sure. Due to the line about Psions worshipping him I think he's connected but not exactly one of them. Something older and more powerful. Rhulk wiped out all but one of a species from the shadows trying to convert the last to become a Disciple so I kind of picture Nezerec manipulating early Psion culture from the shadows like him but instead of destroying them like a disciple making them worship him like a god.

I really enjoyed this video. Since the season of plunder my character’s name has been Nyx Disciple of Nezarec. Ironically though my name is Michael. The Nezarec lore has always intrigued me as he gives off vibes of a lovecraftian deity much like Niarlathotep. I was very entertains when I saw one of the raid weapons was called Mykal’s Reverence.

The lore of RoN gives me huge HP Lovecraft vibes and I love it! "Of Hated Nezarec" seems to be the Destiny equivalent of the "Necronomicon". In many stories it gets passed on through generations and who reads it goes mad.

Yknow, imagine if the narrative team had a hand in designing the nezarec fight. "Shred shadow to pieces, and replace it". Can you imagine if one of his attacks was like an encroaching darkness you had to cleanse with field of light, or he would dive down and burst from your shadow, killing you and spawning a tormentor in place of the shadow. Perhaps on the other hand, you could have a light attack where he steadily burnt you, dishing out pain with blinding light, and youd cleanse it with flux of light. I'd have also liked to see a "fear" mechanic where your guardian becomes weaker when targeted by Nezarec, perhaps during dps, and if you succumb to it you act in such a way that you sabotage your team, perhaps shooting at them. Perhaps this mechanic could be that you were transported to a part of the arena, and the team (one or more person) has to transport a darkness refuge buff to you, and rally behind you (not to be coy but this would essentially be a mechanic where your team "supports you emotionally" to help you overcome the fear). Perhaps when inflicted with this terror you deal either steadily reducing damage (succumbing to becoming weak with fear) or your aim gets progressively shakier, and I mean borderline unplayable, disregarding stability stats until you get cleansed. And once you get cleansed, you then get a buff to empower your damage as a reward for "overcoming fear", which would of course symbolise a direct challenge to Nezarecs power. Just a missed opportunity in my view.

I think it has to be recent when micheal turned 18, as before beyond light its not likely that someone will be calling them eliksni but it would have been fallen. and finding an eliksni so close to a place where someone is sleeping would make more sense after they joined us in the tower.

Huge Theory: what if light can be calculated? Vex calculated darkness and comprehended how to wield its power... Right before the traveler left the tower a heart beating got perceived by the light users (it's confirmed because osiris, who lost his light, said he felt nothing) and... Also by Rasputin... who agreed saying "indeed"... Could Rasputin have been capable to calculate and comprehend the light as a machine? About another lore theory, I think that the speech zavala told us at the end of lightfall ("the traveler is gone and cannot give light to other enemies" despite we are still using our powers), maybe the meaning is: the traveler is gone from the tower and is blocked by the technology of the pyramids and cannot create new ghosts...to give to the hive or other species...

Riven is a character that defies death with her power to warp reality and shape desires. While she may never truly die, I could very well see Nezarec as a great villain for a future expansion after the Light vs Dark saga. We may discover a way to kill him memory by erasing the very memory of him. How? Paracausalality, and perhaps the ascendent plane. Just as Eris intends to extinguish all the Hive and erase the very memory of them to little more than a ghost story, I feel she would have good reason to discover a way to permanently erase one that cannot truly die. One that caused her more pain and trauma through Nightmares.

Im starting to think void is the literal line between light and dark. Iirc void is about potential, singularities, and emptiness. And since the void is technically nothingness ( if i have understood it correctly) the darkness could exert some form of control of it. The void is both physical and mental

I wonder if some parallels are to be drawn between Mykel and Mikh'el (Michael) the Archangel, who was the captain of the armies of YWHW. Nezarec's acolytes might be allusions to, and inversion of, the archangels from the Hebrew Bible. Mikh'el means "One Who is Like God?"
