Candace and I are about the same age. P diddy and his crew were at their prime in the mid to late 90s and they were one of the most popular artists when I was growing up. This idea that the temptations is supposed to be what most 90s kids grew up listening to is laughable.

I went to college, and it made me a more independent and well-rounded person who actually wanted to learn new things and meet new people. My takeaway wasn’t that it was pointless, it was that the college experience should be available to everyone. I was very fortunate to have a family that could pay for it, but it shouldn’t be limited to people like me. There are people infinitely smarter than me who are locked out of college because they can’t afford it, and that’s unacceptable.
@NuclearDetractor

These politicians and pundits, like Candace, tell Americans that college is a waste of time and money; but if you ask them about their education, they all went to the finest universities. And their children; they went to even finer universities. It's so nefarious and so obvious what the agenda is here. Just look at American history when women or black people were second class citizens. Civil rights leaders first advice to younger generations was always, "educate yourself".

15:23 The real black “gangsters” (criminals who used their crime to effectively build communities/cities like the Italian mob) were all locked up, Larry Hoover being the most famous example. With the OGs being arrested, “gangsters” ended up having to lead each other when they were far too young and unprepared for the role in life. Then come later with the rising absence of fathers (a different discussion as to why it happened), the young men who chose the criminal life would end up being the next OGs (assuming they didn’t die before 20) and lead the next generation astray. It went from OGs being the mentors and voices of reason on how to stay out of trouble while still making your money, how to handle conflict, and basic codes of honor, to young cats putting guns in a kid’s hand and tellin them to run down their opps for credibility, “earning their stripes”. The thugs that don’t die young rarely mature out of that mindset and once again pass it on to their kids or other youngins in the neighborhood, and the cycle perpetuates. Gang culture was glorified for both blacks and Italians, difference is Italian gang culture was always about money first, and didn’t devolve into gang-banging crash out fests. Godspeed. EDIT: I want to add that originally, gang culture in the black community started off as a means to police themselves, they dealt with a racist police force that basically acted like a gang themselves, so the community, which was an ACTUAL community back then, held each other down. Crack was what fucked that up, weed was sold for sure and violence existed because of it, but mfs was NOT tweaking until they became real base heads, and it proved that our “community” really can’t say shit about white oppression: we accepted crack from the white man, and sold the white rock as blacks people to black people, we didn’t have to. Rant over

The biggest problem with the Diddy conspiracy is that he was just getting popular along with the Notorious BIG / “gangsta rap “ and was the same time as Lauryn Hill coming out with a solo album. Therefore how did he or how is he responsible for culture going that way?? I believe he’s into crazy stuff and I am sure he has done things I would consider immoral. But is it different than other people with similar levels of fame etc? Idk. I don’t know why everything has to be a big conspiracy and can’t just be yuck

Going to college made my life do a 180. I got a degree in Game Development/Computer Science at 28 and had a job before I graduated. I also feel extremely lucky and feel the real dice roll is getting those first jobs to give you 3 - 5 years experience. Without that experience getting a job feels like winning the lottery. I was lucky the school I attended brings employers in for Interviews and I volunteered for every one. I would never approach half of what I earn now, if it weren't for college.

God I hate conservatives attempting to speak on rap music. I listen to rap almost exclusively, and if it's not: Eminem, Tom Mcdonald, Adam Calhoun, or WAP, conservatives don't know of it or consider it rap. There's SO many artist who make music that backs up Destiny's point (Kendrick, Nas, Biggie, Pac, JayZ, JID, Joey Badass, Denzel Curry, Griselda, Freddie Gibbs, Isaiah Rashad...I could go on forever lol)
@ant_the_rant

I'm a conservative, I can speak on rap with authority. I grew up on conscience hiphop from the Bay, but familiar with it all. I think you are missing the point when people go from liberal to conservative. It comes with maturity and responsibility. Naming a bunch of apolitical young dudes having leftist media put words in their mouths doesn't make an argument. Not to mention you are literally making shit up. Benny the Butcher of Griselda has very famously endorsed Trump and inked it on his skin. Did you just forget to mention Kanye? 50? Killer Mike? Waka? Keef? C'mon... 🧢 Who do you think moguls like E40 support? Gibbs was on Ye's recent release, and hangs with Rogan... in Texas. I'll let you put 2+2 together. The thing is, the devil has got a grip on the industry. So people keep their cards close. Nas doesn't know if he's Christian, Muslim, or atheist, courted by leftists through academia, but you best believe he's surrounded by millionaire/billionaires on the right despite presenting as left. JayZ is a whole other devil to itself. Follow the money there. You might as well lump Lil Nas X into the left. Claim that abomination. Unfourtely we have to claim SexyyRed as a Trump supporter but again, conservatives don't F with that.

I don’t think music is super irrelevant. Yes, white people also like rap and hip-hop, but the difference is the lack of parental figures (especially male role models for young black boys) is exponentially higher in the black community than it is in the white community, therefore white kids are able to have a healthier interaction with drill music than black kids on average, due to the fact kids with male role models already have an ideal to aspire to and don’t have to look up to celebrities promoted by the mainstream to have a male ideal to strive to be, many of whom don’t have a moral bone in their body.

I do think there is an epstien-esque ring of exploitation and blackmail with Diddy, and I'll tell you why; Before the Epstien thing broke, Seth McFarlane made a joke at an awards show about how the lady that won didn't have to pretend to like Epstien anymore. And a few years ago, Eminem made a joke about Diddy putting the hit out on 2pac. These felt like subtle, silent whistle blows. Now, that being said, I think Candice is waaay to conspiracy about it and kinda makes it a joke because she's a joke.
