hahaha same, I've put 250 hours already and I feel like I haven't even scratched the surface. But I love it, it makes me feel like being a child playing simcity 3000 in some sort of way, I was even able to get rid of my ps4. Now whenever I feel like binge gaming I go to factorio to burn out after some days, after that I give myself a good 3 weeks of rest before touching it again. I love this game's sound track too :)

The choice paralysis hits me HARD with factorio. Plus the ever looming threat of the biters and their evolution makes me too tense to think lol I'd say trains are mandatory, but logistics networks are not.

I would argue opposite. It's pretty easy to beat the game without trains. But without bots this game is nightmare. For example without bots you would have to manually repair and maintain your wall which after awhile would be extremely annoying and time consuming. If you set up bot coverage along your wall you never have to worry about biters getting through again. Bots also are great at helping with logistics for making niche items without running belts across the map.

@@Scouarn How do you do it? I'm a bit of a beginner and only played the vanilla game but I can't imagine playing without trains. My factory is always way too far away from the next oil deposits to maintain production without them.

I destroyed the nests that were close to the pollution cloud and built walls so I wasn't getting attacked a lot. My production area was quite small so it wasn't a lot of pollution anyway and I had a lot of time between research to kill the biters. Therefore I had a few ore patches (and oil) within my wall so I laid belts. It took around 30h to launch a rocket. I wouldn't recommend this play style.

This is like every time we make a mod minecraft server and the mod pack is just automation upon automation and I want to die when I need to go find some material for something as simple as a battery to make the thing work that took me 3 hours to make before

what you mean by that? there a few "game flow" one of them is making an sequence for automation second is upgrading and reinventing these lines thir is repairing things after biters fourth is trying to figure out what went wrong also you can craft almost every thing in the game by hand, so you can go with that also you can build without drones and you do it at least 20 hrs of beginning (if you are not a speedrunner)

Yeah, I beat base factorio without making a single train or going into nuclear energy or the logic circuits.. its still quite enjoyable without putting more than like 50 hours in. Some people really seem to fid their calling in this game though. its really satisfying to see a giant base runnung smoothly.

buy factorio. It's 30 bucks never goes on sale but it's a good game that will teach you how to be a better problem solver.

You will not learn any useful skills from playing factorio but it will definitely make you feel like an absolute genius the first time you get your factory to run without issues for a couple minutes.

If you play without modpacks that extend the game further, you beat it after launching the rocket. It's still playable after that, but that's when the game says you won. You're essentially trying to launch of the planet you crashed on.
