I thought Aba would have a better way to argue this given his family are Ethiopian immigrants. I guess he never had many any immigrant friends growing up. It's a weird convo because neither of them have made it clear what they're even talking about. Are they discussing if blacks and African immigrants they look different? Or are they treated different? Are they raised different? Are their cultures different? All of these are completely different questions that have different answers.
@Kuroganemk22 жыл бұрын
I feel that imigrants from africa would see themselves more as people from their country so like Kenyan or something and not black. I'm Polish, I don't see myself as white but as Polish as all europeans do, we go by out nationality first.

I've become partial to this argument about sticking together to preserve or gain political and cultural power... when I agree with the goals of that project,but if you're doing it to say preserve your backwards social views like with Christians and Muslims that want theocracy... that's crossing a line for me.

you can only think you're similar to the average african american as a migrant black person if you've never met someone from louisiana because black culture is southern culture, and if you already have a culture, then good luck. This is Destiny's whitest take yet. Probably the main aspect of culture is identity, and how one can argue that physical appearance/attributes does not play into identity is... questionable, especially if you advocate for trans rights. Physical appearance is certainly part of identity, which is also part of culture. To have an entire race of people eradicated *would* change the culture.
@STARK01812 жыл бұрын
Eradicated?? Demographics and culture will shift regardless at some point. That's beyond anybody's control.

@@fourtyseven47572 You realize men and women's bodies are... different. And black men and white men's bodies are... different. This contributes to culture. White people don't get ashy arms, nor do they get nappy. Men don't have the same hormones and body as women. Women can relate to women. Black people can relate to black people, etc. This is something other groups *cannot* understand fully.

It comes from socio economic conditions where people associate race in their minds with the poverty they live. If you grew up in a slum in Brazil and you're lucky enough to make it out of it, you kinda want to move on from this life and that also means marrying someone that doesn't make you remember how terrible your past life was. This is why white people are often looked at to be a prize when it comes to interacial relationships because of the status it represents ( affluence, security, educated, etc..).
