Yeah, this part was hilarious because Cenk has been around the block and back. Dude started out at the bottom of a local broadcaster in Florida and originally cut his chops on public access TV. He started TYT in a janky LA apartment where guests on the show thought it was a setup. He went from that to being a paid host on MSNBC and turned down millions because they wanted him to play nice with the Obama admin. The idea of a relative kid saying, "I have have friends that are Joe Biden fans" must've been hilarious as a retort to him. If they were poly they tended to be a little wacky, to put it nicely. If they weren't poly they usually didn't want to go on a second date after I told them I was. Or women liked the idea of what if they had two boyfriends, and I was one, but we didn't have sex. Maybe they wanted free dinners and someone to talk to. Maybe I was bad at sex. Probably both. I started feeling like maybe I just wanted to be monogamous with the poly girl I was dating. She did even less dating then me, but she felt like being poly was a fundamental part of her like being gay, and so she wouldn't consider it. She also wasn't perfectly respectful of me asking her to use a condom with other people. She also started saying she identified as non-binary. I said I think I just want to date a singular woman and we broke up. Then I met a nice woman on tinder and we've been together exclusively for 7 years. Being poly seems to require having lots of free time and money and ability to deal with drama. I think I'm on the autism spectrum, and I think that it can attract people like that. They like rules and logic. Like why can't you be in love with two people? If we discuss it it's fine. Dating those people can be awkward, but still good. Where it's bad is the other people it attracts. The tumblr types. They're the complete opposite, and they like rules just so there's MORE to start drama about. MORE people to get emotional with. You have to walk on eggshells about boring topics, but then they expect everything to go smooth with a bunch of people with extreme fetishes. I'm not the first one to say "it's never who you want to be poly that's poly." But even if that weren't true, I don't think I want to deal with all the extra thought of scheduling and communication and sex safety. Also, open relationships and swinging I see as slightly easier, because you aren't purposefully trying to be in love with multiple people and hope they all love each other. It's more explicitly about sex. Which still has risks, including love, but you might be able to find slightly more normal people. Maybe as it grows in popularity things will change this was like OKCupid days 8 or 9 years ago.

@@helioscomis3732 I don't know if it would count as total genocide, but it would be borderline genocide. Most of the evidence shows that for minors with gender dysphoria, letting them use puberty blockers with the consultation of their doctors and their families is ideal. Gender dysphoria is very crippling for some people and puberty blockers are good at pausing puberty, such that they have time to decide if they need to medically transition later on. As for Sweden, it's a decent place as far as having and egalitarian society and all that, but I don't necessarily see it as the best role model, politically-speaking. For instance, Sweden criminalizes paying prostitutes for intimacy. Plus, their only cited reason for limited puberty blockers was "not enough research", which means they didn't bother looking at the overwhelming amount of sources that confirm that they're safe and effective. Their policy wasn't based on any advice from people who've studied puberty blockers, and their justification could equally be used to justify banning birth control for women. Now, taking them more charitably, it's possibly they could just be talking about the fact that they haven't historically been used for gender dysphoria and were mostly intended for use with people who started puberty too early, but even that's fallacious, given that we already allow a lot of difference medicines to be used off-label for things that we're their original intended purpose

Not fear of trans women in our spaces but fear of men capitalizing on this easy entry point into our safe spaces. I grew up in a zip code full of preying sex offenders. Grown men masturbating in their cars, following us home from school, hanging outside of public restrooms at parks…these encounters started in 3rd grade and continued consistently until we were old enough to drive and couldn’t be followed on our walks to and from school and each other’s homes. Each and every person dismissing our perspective can eat a dick. They’re not the center of the universe.

The main issue here is they went from "gender and sex are 2 different things" to "sex and gender are the same" its not. Youre either a man or a woman, or a trans man or woman. A trans woman is NOT a woman, theyre a TRANS woman. The big problem is this whole push to day trans women are women as if theres nothing different between the two. Its completely absurd.
@cjohnson3836 Жыл бұрын
This isn't a correct framing of their argument. Literally no one believes sex and gender are the same. And their hierarchy would be [humans]->[male]->[cis-man] | [trans-man] and [humans] -> [female] -> [cis-woman] | [trans-woman]. They are not arguing that trans women are the same as cis women. Their argument is that woman includes both as a subdesignator. Whether this is correct or not isn't a useful question because definitions are ultimately social constructs. And if their framing wins, the only change will be that woman-only spaces will become cis-woman-only spaces.
@sward0483 Жыл бұрын
@cjohnson3836 The fact they argue trans women are no different from women and have no advantage in sports says otherwise. The whole cis nonsense is just dumb. You don't need to put an identifier in front of regular men and women as they make up like 99% of the population, and they are the genetic norm. You only put trans infront because those people require it to signify that they identify opposite of the genetic norm. The only reason to put a qualifier or whatever before normal men/woman is to attempt to merge women and trans women into the same category. That won't fly in the real world.

In terms of slavery the west was the first to attempt (and succeed) in a widespread ban, the rest of the world resisted it when Britain banned it in all its territories. So the only thing people are really complaining about is the fact that white people even participated or didn’t ban it sooner while everyone else just gets a pass. Why? Are white people just inherently smarter people and therefore knew better but just chose to ignore their conscience? And non white people were just too stupid to know any better so they get a pass? 45:18 destiny is right that any time a competitor has a greater ability to recover from their sessions or has an increased work capacity due to internal or external factors, then that competitor has an advantage. For example, rock climbing is a sport that combines technique, strength and essentially problem solving. The more routes you can do and the more time you can spend on the wall before a competition, the more you increase at the very least your technique and ability to mentally visualize the common moves needed to succeed. This is why not all PED use boils down to just making an athlete stronger, but instead sometimes just increases recovery and thus allows them to put hours or perhaps even days more amount of training into their program.

I feel like Trans activists are intentionally obscusating the conversation by arguing fringe topics to win incremental ground on things like bathrooms, sports and medical intervention without addressing the core of the debate, which is "are brains sexed?". If they're not, which the most recent studies seem to indicate, all of the downstream conversations become moot. Ailments like body/gender dysmorphia and the inevitable suicide rate become a mental/phycological issue as opposed to a medical one making hormornes and surgical internvention not the right course of action for these people. For everyones sake, I think we need to answer the "sexed brain" question before we start enacting laws and enforcing societal norms that we likely cant undo if we're wrong.

There's always a possibility, however, that a person's identity could be identified through a case study or an anecdote in a journalist's story (by someone who already knows enough inside information to recognize the details), but it is highly unlikely that people not familiar with the specific details of a case would be able to identify a person's identity if the identifying information has been changed or not included.
